Thanks!

It’s a great area and a spectacular lake.

I love living in a place where people come to vacation. We rarely feel a need to travel.

@Soulshine... great shots... jack frost is nipping at your heels up there now! soon the salt trucks will be out haha. had the first morning in north jersey where I though about putting the heat on!
best friend is from medina up on lake Ontario, they are already using ice scrapers. just makes it more the sweeter coms spring.

It’s not my heels I’m worried about. ;)

I dug out an ice scraper this morning and the furnace has been on for weeks.

Love the finger lakes, I take he dinghy down a couple times a year to fish. Usually honeoye though. We’re up in Rochester on the big lake

Yes it was!

It is still summer in N. California with temp in the mid 80s.
Went out yesterday and docked at Angel Island for lunch.

Watkins Glen. South end of Seneca Lake looking north.

First boats out there a few days in advance of a festival that will attract about 200 boats.

boat scheduled to come out this week. great fall day , leaves in full effect.

wind was blowing 50 mph into the marina causing the water to rise about two feet... the swim platform ended up snagging on the docks and when the wind subsided the water dropped and this is the result!

Man that sucks.

Always a fear of mine too. My marina is at the end of a canal that has one huge waterfall and a dozen others flowing into it.

Heavy rains and wind frequently make the water level rise and fall dramatically.

How’s your insurance?

a good friend of mines' family has a cottage on the shore of lake Ontario in western ny. there has been devastating flooding due to the lack of water management this year. i know there are class action suits out there by property and municipalities.... if i were you , i would ask around about that and possibly get a claim involved. sounds like your situation was partly due to the abnormally high water level.

Our marina has a fall boat cruise each year - an excuse to take a ride to the north end of Lake Norman - followed by a cookout at the marina. Here are some pics from this years cruise.
