I am reupholstering my captain chairs on my 2006 sea ray sundeck, does anybody know how to separate the top curved part of the captain chair back rest from the bottom of the backrest? The lower section is white in the upper section is green and has "sea ray" written on the back . Thank you for any help. Tim

I’m looking to do the same on my 2007 Sundeck to fix the flip up bolster on the passenger side.

2007 is a one year only design. I’ve looked at it a few times but don’t see any obvious place to start.

I'm betting that if you were to call Sea Ray Customer Service at 321-449-8628 they would be able to give you what you're looking for.

@Timsboat: I reupholstered mine on my 2003 260DA. This is how I remember the disassembly:

1. Remove the bottom cushion - it should be velcro'd in - lift up.
2. Remove the flip up bolster cushion the hardware should be visible

The back and arm are two pieces and will need some material removed to expose the fastners

3. Start removing the vinyl from the bottom and roll back.
4. On the bottom there should be two webbing straps from the top of the back anchored on the bottom.
5. Continue to roll/peel the material up on the sides as the forward top in anchored by screws.
6. Once the screws and the straps are removed the back top should separate from the lower back.

Ok, here’s what I did. This is on a 2007 240 Sundeck. I believe that this style seat was only available for 2007.

Loosen the large black wingnut under the seat and pull it off the pedestal.

Remove the 4 screws to remove the mount/sliding assembly from the bottom of the seat.

Now remove then 2 screws which secure the seat bottom to the seat frame. I then flipped the seat upside down with the top of the seat back resting on the ground, keep the bolster in the “up” position, and push firmly on the 2 black locking tabs. The seat bottom will then separate from the frame.

The bolster just snaps into 2 recessed areas of the frame. I was able to simply pry it out with my fingers.

At this point, I could see the 2 screws that secure the backrest to the arms.
