He guys,

With two out of the house and two still home, my wife and I have decided to downsize a bit after selling our 370.

We're looking at two 07' 340's, both out of state. Depending on some factors, will either be shipping from TN or MO to the Dallas area.

Was given four transporter companies names....have called all four, two are out of business, one hasn't bothered to return a call - and one has quoted $8/mile.

V-drive boat with no trailer.

Appreciate any names and numbers that operate in those areas.

Fly, have you tried U-ship.com? You might be able to find someone there.

Hi GFC, yes - I have an ad on Uship. It's only been about 24 hours, so hopefully something will come of it.

On a side note - you guys still going back and forth to AZ? Great time of year to be out on Pleasant...

Cheers...

I just had a 310da shipped from Lake of the Ozarks to Washington State.
I am very happy with, and highly recommend Ernie Dampier of Marine Service Company.
Very professional, and good communication.
His driver John that delivered my boat was super as well.
His price was better than the rest that I got also.

Yup. We're down here now. We got here Sunday and early Monday morning I went to the storage yard to check on the Whaler. I made a custom cover setup for it last year and was pleasantly surprised to see that everything is intact and there's no indication that any water pooled on the cover. That was my main concern. Last year when we got down here there were water stains on the cover and it was obvious there had been significant pooling.

We'll probably hit Lake Pleasant on Saturday. I can't wait!

I am sure there is more than one that will do a good job. I got three quotes and Chris was by far the cheapest. His reviews are what sealed the deal. When he pulled out, he sent me a link to an app and on my phone, I could follow him via map the whole way. It also showed his speed.

He lives just out of Ft Worth so might get a better deal when he was headed home....just me $0.02.

Hey Guys,

I sincerely appreciate your input. Due to our outstanding CSR community, I now have a few options. Things are looking good for the transport.

Thanks CSR :D

I like the app to see the progress. My guy didn't have that.
Looks like you have some great options Fly'n Family.
Let us know how it all works out.

Up to this point I would recommend talking with JC at JC Marine Services. His reviews (on fb page) are great and his price is in line with others as well. He's very experienced and informative. I haven't hired anyone yet but I'll likely hire him when I find my boat. Just google JC Marine Services.

It's been 6 years, so i don't know if he's still in business, but Doug Tordik hauled our 320 from Va to Wi. Very professional and I was very pleased.

Thought I'd follow-up with my good and bad boat transport exercise in case it's of help to anyone that searches.

Bad: Company called Ultra Boat Transport. Rescheduled my pick-up date 7 times over an almost month period - while boat was shrink wrapped and waiting to be picked up. Terrible communications once they received a deposit, just a lousy operation. To boot - it's now been over a week since I requested my funds sent back due to lack of performance (I of course wired the money within 24 hours of their request for deposit) and of course there's a complete lack of communication. Very well may have to take them to court.

Good: Actually outstanding. Company called Hurricane Marine Transport out of Ohio. They were recommended by the boat folks, and did a helluva good job. Spoke with them on a Thursday, they committed to picking it up the following Monday and have it 1,000 miles away by Wednesday. Not only did they hold up their end, but they arrived at the marina Tuesday evening.

The gentleman's name is Ian, and they had fantastic equipment and provided their own escort vehicle for the trip. They did everything the right way, escort, permits etc - and I was happy to pay them.
