Hi, where can I find plumbing schematics for the bilges and the water systems. I'm having water seeping into the bilge under the steps, where the shower bilge pump box is (2004 Sundancer 260).

I thought it was coming from the shower pumps not working well, but after cleaning the box, and the bilge, the pump is working properly, but I still water seeping into that bilge.

The boat is out of the water, on my trailer, and the rear bilge is clean and bone dry. The bilges forward under the bow cushion and port and starboard cushions are dry too..

I emptied the water tank and the pump was off, but the water keeps seeping in and it's been a week since it's been in the water and no rain..

Any ideas?

I believe there is information about water line routing in the manual (available online, too), but it's been a while since I checked. There is also lot's of information on this site, if you wanted to do some research and search older threads (the issue is not uncommon to any boat).

Where is your water tank? The boat is on the trailer? Is it sitting bow high?

The water tank is aft in the engine compartment. the boat on the trailer is in a slight down angle.

So "typically" the most common reason for water showing up where it is either the head window or the head drain. The window can leak into the head, but also between the head and the hull side. But with no rain and it is STILL leaking in, that pretty negates that possibility.

Look through the manual to double check, but if memory serves, the water lines for the head come from the bilge. You should also be able to verify this by simply looking in the bilge and following the lines.

The engine bilge is sealed from the cabin and the step down area. But, that doesn't mean there isn't a pinhole leak in the bulkhead between the step down and the bilge. With the bow down, you could be getting bilge water seeping in. Raise the bow - either with the tongue jack or a floor jack - and see if water shows up under the engine. There's plenty of room in that bilge to get down there and look around, even under the engine. Then dry everything out real well and see if water shows up again.

Bet it the sump pump. I used to have the same boat and mine went bad causing the same issue. It is located under the step. JP
