Yeah, Murray had a great couple of games.

What happened was the number two wild-card without home ice advantage swept the the number one team in the Western division, dismissed the blues and ducks in six games, losing two top players in Fiala, Johansen, and taking the defending Stanley Cup champs to six games where they were lucky to Win games six. Again Murray had a great game.

Very well said! We had a ton of stellar moments, but just enough sucky ones to keep us from an even more historical end to a fabulous season!!

And another view on the matter....

The Whistle.
Two words that will hurt Nashville Predator fans for a long time to come. Just like the Titan's "one yard short", it was a sour note ending for a Nashville Sports team. During this hurting time. It is easier to focus on the things that didn't go our way. The goals taken away from us like candy from a laughing baby's mouth. The physical assault of PK Subban by Sidney Crosby, the man named MVP of the playoffs. The injuries. The woulda, coulda, shoulda's.
But that's not what we are. In Nashville, we rally together and celebrate the good. We celebrate a Nashville Predators team. The team many thought wouldn't even make it to the playoffs. The last team to do it.
The Predators that knocked off the #1 seed Chicago Blackhawks in 4 straight games. A sweep.
Pekka Rinne, that was human for short spurts of time. And was super human most of the time, but still remaining humble and focused.
A team that donated proceeds from hitting a St. Louis Blues car in front of Bridgestone with a sledgehammer to flood recovery for the people in St. Louis.
Watch parties that filled the plaza in front of the arena for fans who couldn't get tickets.
Banners on buildings that weren't even finished being built that said "Stand With Us".
The biggest stars in Nashville and on the planet singing the national anthem wearing a Preds jersey. And the fun of who was going to be the next one.
The injuries of Kevin Fiala and Ryan Johansen that turned them from players to fans just like us. They became inspirational cheerleaders on crutches.
The world noticed we have the best fans in the world. What used to be a football only town, Nashville took it to a level that made other fan bases defensive and catty.
While we're on the subject. Throwing catfish, a Nashville Predator fan secret for over 10 years, became a national sensation. And catfish became an instrument of crime!
Preds watch parties expanded to Hall of Fame park, then Ascend Amphitheater, then Demonbreun, then Broadway. The streets were paved with gold.
PK Subban, Who brought great play and a sense of humor. And bottles of Listerine to the rink.
Incredible overtime goals, glove saves, and a team that overcame so many adversities, including the refs and NBC. And a city that believed all along right with them.
A Nashville that cheered them on, not just when they were winning. But even louder when they needed our support more than ever.
2 months of an incredible ride for a community that had so many positive things to say to each other, including complete strangers. Hugs from a random person standing next to you. High fives from a cashier wearing gold.
When the hurt goes away, we will learn it was better to have played to the end and lost, than to never have played at all.
And the future is bright for this young, talented, gritty, and now experienced team.
Hold your head high.
Because WE ARE SMASHVILLE.

P.S. First Mate, who barely even knows hockey's a sport, announced to me today he wants Faith Hill banned from singing the national anthem at professional sporting events in TN. According to him, she's an official jinx, as she sang it when the Titans came up one yard short!

Very interesting perspectives and excuses.... I'm watching the Penguins victory parade now. Back to back cups is a pretty amazing feat! It's being live streamed on the Pens website for those hockey fans interested in celebrating this incredible achievement!
