2006 270 AJ Fresh Water Tank Leak? HELP

After an enjoyable day of boating, I thought someone spilled a soda in the forward cabin. Upon further inspection, I found the carpet runner where the "step" or base where the table would insert in the cabin was soaked..lifted the cushion to see what I assume is the fresh water holding tank??
Anyone confirm this IS the fresh water tank, and where can I get access to see where the lead would be coming from? We were on the boat all day, and didn't have it start leaking until we got back..shut off the head systems and fresh water pump...

I HATE :smt089 water in the cabin !!!

There's nothing like a leak to ruin an otherwise good day on the water.

You are correct, the fresh water tank is in the bow under the front cushion. Perhaps one of the connections has come loose over time? There are 3 connections to the tank: The main fill, the vent, and the outlet. The parts diagram shows the fill and vent on the forward part of the tank, and the outlet on the aft left side.


BTW if the tank is leaking, shutting off the water pump will prevent it from running and burning out if the tank runs dry, but not help stem the leak. The pump is in the engine room mounted on the port side, just ahead of the batteries. The water tank will drain by gravity into the bilge if the line ahead of the pump is disconnected. If there is a leak in the tank, I'd be a bit worried that it would completely drain into the cabin. I would pump it out now and refill later when diagnosing the problem.

Thanks for the reply! Last year I had the area just below the step get wet. I thought it was a faulty sump box pump or the bilge pump just outside of it...I have a hunch it's the loose connection(s) you mentioned for this leak and the new leak by the cabin table area! I REALLY wish Sea Ray would NOT put carpet in the cabin period!

Update- so the water was from the fresh water tank...very poor design with no access to the connections. Marina had to tank the tank out, replace the fitting, let it sit overnight to verify no more leaks....great, or so I thought!
Used it for the first time since the 'repair', all was well all day until the ladies had to use the head...turn on the fresh water pump and head system, and same thing.
By the time we were back to the dock, the platform where the cabin table goes was wet, as was the carpet below!
SO FRIGGIN' FRUSTRATING!!!
Obviously they didn't turn on the systems, or I'm sure the leak would've happened!!

Anyone have any suggestions?
I haven't even seen the first marina bill.....
