Thing about staying overnight with wife in FI somewhere between Kismet and Ocean Bay Park. Marinas that let you slip overnight are $200 to $250. Are there any other areas close to shore where you can anchor up and still get to shore? New at this . Thank you.

You might be able to go to Atlantique during the mid-week as non resident. Not sure what their prices are for this year but my 340 was about 135/night (about double the previous year). It's a little less expensive than the $200.

Ok, two things here. There are no real "coves" out east by Fire Island. If you get a night where there is little to no wind, and its out of the south you MAY be able to get away with a night but I wouldn't suggest it. You may wake up in the middle of the night in 3 footers!!
I agree with the midweek stay in Atlantique. I don't know why Kevinc paid $135 a night. I have stayed there the last 2 seasons and only paid $2 a foot plus electric.

I just called out to check this years rates and they are down. Atlantique docking is determined by the beam not by the foot. Mid week is available for non-residents (otherwise call in advance). Rates for "C" slips are $50/nite, "B" Slips are $80/nite and "A" are $105/nite. I used the "C" with my old 260 and now use "B" with my 340. Nice marine, short walk to ocean, they also have a bayside beach and you can walk the beach to Ocean Beach or take a water taxi.

i think there is a town dock in ocean beach, but they dont have water and electric hookup, im not sure if you can stay there overnight either

Kevin,
You are correct, it was A, B or C slips at Atlantique. I was in a B slip. It is a great location as it is 1/2 mile west of Ocean Beach & 1/4 mile east of Fair Harbor which has a nice little Restaurant "Le Dock", a pizza/ice cream store & small grocery store. Both a very easy walk or Water taxi ride from Atlantique. As a non resident we are limited to caddy days (mon-thurs).

So atlantique only lets non residents there mon and tues. doesn't look like I have any other option for a fri/sat night.

Atlantique will let non-stop residents in Mon-Thurs. You can try Sea view just east of Ocean beach but it is pricey. There is also Davis Park further east (across from Patchogue). They let non-residents in 7 days a week for about $2 a foot plus electric but, I'd expect it to be crowded with Watch Hill closed next door.

I was at Davis park last week non resadents are 4 dollars a foot plus five for electric..... they said after 3pm they go hourly

Davis Park doesn't charge anything after mid October, but I'm not sure if electric is available.
