Official 19SPX/21SPX/SPX190/SPX210 Thread

I use one of the twist lock suction cups with a 2" extension rod. I have yet to have it come loose once - even out in rollers in the bay. I'll upload a pic of it when I can - I think the SPX probably has some decent places to attach it. The 185 has a curved dash which makes it difficult to mount some things.

Thanks for the update. Pics when you are done would be great. My 340da is going in on Friday so now I want to focus on the 19spx and get it ready for the season.
I got the SeaDek last night and just put it in today. Just like SCJeep I think it looks more finished now. Also did a few other pcs too.

It looks great. With all the cold rain we have been having I haven't even unwrapped the boat yet. When I do I am going to give seadek a call to have them send me the templates.

Thanks. Reference Seadek part number 28920-80093. It may save you a couple months of lead time. Brian

Perfect, thank you.

Ok folks - so here's the first upgrade I've done on the boat.

We like to leave the seating on the port side of the boat set up in the 2 passenger bench mode. I quickly noticed that in this configuration, the entire front edge of the back seat cushion is completely unsupported. With someone sitting there facing the starboard side of the boat, the seat sags considerably and stresses the piano hinge that connects the cushion to the seat. There is no doubt that the hinge would be bent and/or ripped out within the first season of use if left like this. When the forward seat is stored underneath the back seat, this condition does not exist, as the entire back seat cushion is supported. See image below:

In order to remedy the situation, I removed the solid support that is attached to the undserside of the removable front seat cushion and used it as a template to create a permanent support for the back seat cushion. I took the support, screwed it to a piece of 3/4" MDF, rough cut it with a jigsaw and then used a router with a flush cut bit to make an exact duplicate of it. I then rounded over the edges with 1/4" roundover bit, sealed the MDF with a shellac based primer and then painted it with white gloss latex paint. I put it in place underneath the back seat cushion and problem solved.

I'm not sure how the MDF will last long term - I may redo this using a 3/4" think piece of HDPE or other type of plastic if the MDF becomes water damaged.

Sorry I don't have any pictures of the finished product, but the boat is shrink wrapped right now. I'll get some posted when I open it up in the spring.

Do you have dimensions and a pic?

So had the boat out a few times. Taking the boat into the dealer for some warranty work. So far a broken snap on the front center cushion, the bemini on the tower isn't level, and there seems to be a pressure leak in the trim hydraulics (engine drops an inch a day). Other than that it has been great!

Brian,
Thanks for paving the way with the Seadek templates. I ordered my set the other day and I should have it by the end of the month.

I bet it'll look real nice in gray. I can't wait to see it!

Brian I meant to ask...do you use your front center cushion? If so does it still lay flat with the Seadek?

Yes and it still lays flat. The material itself is pretty thin. Here's a picture showing the cushion over the installed SeaDek.

Sorry I've been OOP for so long... but I do have some updates here...

First of all - new prop - 19P Mercury High Five. The boat jumps out of hole with this thing - as advertised. When you hammer down, there's a nice high pitched whistle from the back - the nose rises, settles down and then BOOM you're off. A BIG difference from the the 19P Black Max. I haven't had a chance to run all out with it yet as I usually have my kiddos on board and by the time I look at my speed (more on that in a minute) I'm running 30+ and need to back off.

Also, I installed the VesselView Mobile Module, an iPhone Mount, and ran a 10' Lightning cable from the helm down through the ski locker and up through the glove compartment to the stereo:

VVM is great - GPS Speedometer, accurate RPM, water temp, battery voltage - everything you need in a single glance. Also, more accurate than gauge RPM and my speedometer has never worked..

And lastly, a glamour shot of the rig:

Let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to answer!
