Perth, Western Australia (where I live) at the relatively new Elizabeth Quay on the Swan River. First time I have bought the boat to my home city here as it is usually penned elsewhere. Been having some very nice weather for boating.

Great pics all. Thanks for sharing them with us.

I'm curious about what you have your fender balls hanging from at the stern. Do you have any closeups of that setup?

Also, I've never seen boats angle parked like that. Interesting arrangement.

Glad you liked the pics of my part of the world.

Just to clarify, there is a 4 hour time limit in Elizabeth Quay hence why it isn't packed out as boats are coming and going. I have a mooring in nearby picturesque Matilda Bay when in Perth.

Doc - the pics are taken using an old iPhone 5c - I did try some night time pics but they weren't worth posting although looks great in real life.

GFC - some of the pics were taken using the pano mode on my 5c and probably gives a fishbowl effect as the finger jetties are perpendicular to the main jetties. The fender balls hang from the bar on the swim platform cos I have nowhere else to store them. I can fit one in the bilge but that's it. I need these balls when using certain jetties with large unprotected wooden piles such as fuel jetties as the smaller black fenders aren't of sufficient diameter to keep the rub rail off the jetty piles. I bought the smaller black ones first and are great for floating jetties and rafting up which is 95% of the time. But I wish there was a better solution.

juggernaut, to protect your baby from the wooden pilings you might try a thing called Fender Boards. Search for that on YouTube and you will find a couple of videos that show how they work. With them you don't have to worry about the diameter of the balls you're using.

I've made up a couple of 2x6 boards for that use and they work great.

Great pics, looks lovely!

GFC - I did consider the boards however my perceived concerns were they don't offer much protection (depending on thickness) and they require that you align the boards with the pilings when docking in order to offer protection. The balls offer better protection due to their size and compression to take out movement when a swell or boat wash is pushing the boat into the jetty and don't require to be aligned with the pilings as they rest anwhere against the jetty decking/frame.

Captain Rusty - you're invited!
