410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

Even better, I cut a hatch behind the transom door (open position) and extended a hose to a Big Orange filter. I don't even have to open the hatch whenever I need to replace the media!

Any pics of the hatch you cut?

I will take one today since I am heading down to change some filters and other maintenance. It was difficult to decide what surface to use to align the hatch since everything is at different angles.
Update: here is a picture of the hatch. Sorry for the bad quality but I remembered to snap it as I was leaving and all buttoned up.

That looks fantastic, and much better then Having to climb behind the engine. Hmmmm....

I keep my dock lines in there as well so the Admiral doesn't have to go out on the swim platform to get lines ready. We used to keep them in the transom locker.

I like that hatch

Sorry to be a pain, but when you get a chance, can you please take a pic of how it is set up inside. I want to see how/where you mounted the head filter and love the idea of having another storage area for lines.

I currently do not have anything really setup. I placed the Big Orange filter and tie wrapped it in place. The lines, at least for now, are just piled in the space. I need to devise a way to organize them but at least they are inside the boat for now. I'll try to remember to snap a picture next weekend. The Admiral hid inside the cabin cringing the entire time I was cutting the hole!

Worked out a target delivery date of 4/21 with Marine Max today. Yahoooooo! The countdown begins. Can't wait.

Apologize in advance if this topic has been discussed, but has anyone replaced the water heater on a 400DA?

I have the 11 Gal stbd aft of the Westerbeake Genie and I'd like to replace it with the same model... Thoughts?

Can you get them in and out with just removing the side bilge hatch and the big exhaust tube or is this a bigger deal?

I know I'm a little late to the show here but, if you haven't already installed the new one know this. I Relocated mine forward and in between the two engine stringers. It makes a good step and I would rather have the weight more forward and center as compared to the original configuration. Just a thought.

Good evening folks, has anyone replaced the curved track for the sliding top door going down in the cabin. I've looked through my owners manual and downloaded the parts manual and I've come up with 3 different part numbers (still not sure which one is right if any)(1193952, 1090638, 1075795). If anyone has done it I would appreciate any tips for installing and where to get it. Looks like a simple fix if I could find it. I haven't call the local dealer yet, but have checked Flounder Pounder. Thanks in advance.......C'mon warm weather.

Call Boat Outfitters. 866.633.7961 and explain to them what you're looking for. They have or can make just about anything. They are extremely knowledgeable.

You're not too late....I'm really slow. :)

I won't even be near the boat for another month..

That's an interesting thought. I like the idea of having the weight centered and forward, yet I'm not sold on the step idea and it getting in the way. Sure would be easy to replace and work on from there, but I don't think it's meant to hold weight like a step. Do you have picts?

BTW-- This thread is great.

i used it as a step for the last season. I weigh 240lbs it did dent the top but there is no affect on operation. I am bending a piece of aluminum diamond plate the size of the top to cap it off.

You are welcome. When you figure out how to unscrew the old tracks up inside let us know.

Great News!!

Thanks! Anxious to start tinkering with it. As much as I hate it when things break and have to be repaired, I really enjoy modifying, updating, and doing routine maintenance. Going down to the dock and puttering around with things is a great way to spend time.
I've got a replacement stainless faucet and sink ready to install when I get her home, and I should have the woven cockpit flooring by then. The salon TV is a flat panel already and I'm going to swap out the master and aft cabin TV's right away. The Glomex Amplifier is still there but the antenna itself is not. It looks like it was removed when they installed the satellite antenna so I'll have to replace that. We're (mostly my wife) still making decisions about the cockpit table.
Marine Max is detailing it inside and out as part of the sale and I'm sure they'll do a fantastic job but it's likely I'll want to give it a little extra love here and there.
I'm a little nervous about the 5 or 6 hour voyage back home in a boat that's new to me in some unfamiliar waters but with some advance planning I'm sure it will be fine.
