Have had a 2007 310 Sundancer for several years. Was wanting to replace the clarion with a Bluetooth radio. I had the "upgraded" sound in boat with the JL subwoofer but it got stolen this winter.

So does anyone have something they would recommend radio wise for a replacement? Also a decent subwoofer (doesn't have to be JL).

Since I'm here I'm also wandering if anyone has ever upgraded their vessel view. I believe it was in 2008 they started putting a color display in. Didn't know if it was a plug and play or if it was complicated.

Have a friend who is a mercruiser mechanic and also does a lot of low voltage work.

Thanks!!!!!! IMG_5517.JPG

I'm going to contact MercuryMarine to find out. Will post here when I know.

Woofer: JL MX10IB or the Wet Sounds SW-10FA

Blue tooth: Keep the head unit and install a universal blue like the Wet Sounds BT-VC or BT-RS or the Roswell Cybox.

Appreciate it. Will look into that

Vessel view 7 was plug and play for me on my 2005 340da

I had a similar radio upgrade last year and went with the Clarion M606.
Staying within brand allows for plug and play situation and has the same "footprint.". For the remote - I had to purchase a converter plug. Great unit -- easy install !

What was the part number for the converter plug?

I agree. Cheap and effective away to get blue tooth

When I upgraded my stereo a few years ago I bought the Clarion M502. What a mistake. It is a giant pile of crap. The controls are impossible to figure out ( even for a nuclear physicist) and the Bluetooth range is only 15 ft. So it sucks. I was ogling over the fusion AV750 in West marine and loved the simplicity of the controls. I paired my iPhone to it and walked to the far diagonal corner of the store and put my phone up high on a shelf so it wouldn't get stolen and walked back to the stereo and it was still playing. Then I returned to the phone and put it inside a magma grill which should have acted like a faraday cage. The fusion kept right on playing with my phone inside a steel box all the way across the store, at least 125 ft. I will be buying the fusion this spring and setting the Clarion on fire. I am also happy with the Polk Audio subwoofer I put in my sundancer.

Good luck,

Pete

Thanks for input!

What Polk sub did you put in ?

I added to Fusion MS-BT100 to my stock head unit. As long as you have RCA inputs available it is a quick easy way to and bluetooth and it works great.

I agree and so did Clarion. The M502 has been retired for a few years now. The new M303 and M505 are quite user friendly and the BTs are much better. The M505 is even a new BT version then the M303, so better range and SQ.

Sadly, the fusion bt100 is about 5 years past its prime. WAY outdated compared to todays BT offerings. Much better options and better prices and a couple that cost a little more, but worth it.

VesselView Mobile is out now, you can view it on your smart/dumb phone. Mercury part # is 8M0115080.

Contacted Mercury with that precise question regarding Vessel View 7 on my '05 340 and gave them the engine serial #s. They responded that it would be direct plug and play.
