Lots of good boating there and around Beaufort and HHI.

Yes! Very excited and scared! Boating in new waters make me nervous. Don't want to be the experienced new guy on a sand bar or being yelled at for going fast in a no wake zone. LOL

The tides in that area are wicked. It's not whether you will get stuck on a sand bar but when. Good thing is the tide always comes back in to float you off!
I am in Beaufort and boat all up and down The ICW in SC, GA and FL. Be glad to help you get acclimated to the waters in the area when you get here. Just PM me whenever/if you want to.Bluffton

By the way a USCG documented boat does not need to be registered in SC. Also the annual personal property tax on it is based on a millage applied to 10% of the value of the boat. However if you have a head and a galley you can declare it as a second home. That drops the rate down to 6% of the value of the boat.

Bill, I don't know if you know this, but you can apply for an exemption to lower your millage rate. I don't remember off hand, but I had it for my boat.
H2Onut, there is a boat club on Face Book that is pretty active in that area. You should look them up. Carolina Boaters. Bill is a member, as I am. They weekend meet up quite a bit in the seasonal months.
