Another reason for a bigger boat

Always remember to park by smaller boats too!

Has peer pressure ever been this good?
All we need now is the late great Sam Kinison to jump in and scream BUY IT! BUY IT!

And bigger lines too!

Actually, this makes sense. When I bought my 320DA, I looked at smaller boats. But I didn't have a trailer or a truck. So to buy a trailerable boat, I would have had to buy a trailer and a big pickup. So total cost, it was actually cheaper to buy a larger boat!

I told my wife that. If we buy a bigger boat I can sell my truck and buy something more economical and we wouldn't need to pay for registration or maintenance for a trailer and not have to have an empty trailer sitting in our driveway all summer, cluttering the landscape

You guys are killing me ...LMAO!!!!!!! I used this exact same logic ( all of it ) with my wife. However I was not anticipating her rebuttal, which was OK. So now we have gone from a 28 express ( Carolina Classic ) to a 40 bridge boat ( 400DA ). My fishing is going to suffer, however we will be much more comfortable. Pier pressure was definetly a factor, along with watching all our fiends pull out on a weekend trip and wishing we were going too :(. In the end I can say with some certainity that I ( she ) will be much happier.

When I first got a diesel boat, diesel was about $1/gallon cheaper than gasoline. And the diesel powered boat was more efficient than the gas powered one. So I did a calculation on how much I was saving on every mile, and I convinced my then wife that "the more we run the boat, the more we save".

I am now divorced from that wife.

And I now have an even bigger boat then the one I had at the time... :)
upgraded both ways there!

Don't forget, if you are someday going to buy a bigger boat, it will be cheaper today than in 5 or 10 years! Simple economics. Actually, if you don't upgrade now it may be catastrophic!

My wife didn't like the handheld shower on our old boat or the fact that the whole head got wet whenever we showered. The best solution to that was a boat with a separate shower which would be a 380 in the years we were looking at. If we were going for a 380 with gassers why not consider a 410 with diesels, and so it went.......
Luckily my dock space can only accommodate a boat with an LOA of 50 feet or we would have started to justify looking at 460's.

No matter what you decide a boat is fun and when it's not then it's time for a change! Larger, smaller, trailer, high and dry whatever it takes to be happy. My mom when she was still alive (passed in July) would say to me….Tommy you can make any excuse sound like a good reason to get what you want. We miss her terribly but she is right.

Sounds like you need a bigger slip.

We just moved marinas. I was asked why I got a 70' slip for my 50' boat. Hmmmmm, why would I do something like that?

Maybe +20... Lol!

Port Clinton here I come

Awesome!

We'd(Port Clinton/Catawba Island) love to have you! Mrs. Strypes and I would be glad to show you around &/or have you over for a celebratory beverage!
