Hello,

could anybody suggest me where to buy dual horns for a 2001 Searay 310 Sundancer? In the Parts Manual it is referred as "1413475, Horn, Dual BLK w/Spade Connectors Series 84".

Thanks

I'd like to add a Cadillac "Trumprt Horn" (notes A, C, D, & F) to my '97 240 Sundancer but the wiring would need to be upgraded - the circuit is only a 5 amp circuit and the four horns would need a 20 amp circuit. This project is on my list but there are so many more things that are ahead of it.

It is located inside the anchor hatch, in he forward part of the deck, next to the windlass. You can have access through the hatch

Where is the horn located on the sea ray 310, and how do you access to replace it?

Disconnect the wires at the switch and run a set of wires and or or reinforced tubing up the arch. Mount a set of trumpets on the arch. Pick your poison, air horns or electric. Run wires from the horn or compressor to the switch. Far more effective sound wise. At the $120 or so price point, you really cannot tell the difference in sound.

Thanks! Mine is pathetic... That will definitely get added to the must do list!

Two years later, I’m buying the horn... did you need to change wiring when you installed this mini air horn?
Negative, I used the same wiring, it’s working with no problem!

Air horn project successfully finished. Started by removing TV for access to the compressor which worked each time the horn toggle was pressed. Next I blew through the tube myself after removing from compressor….lots of resistance and no sound. Then went into starboard anchor locker and established air flowing up to horns. I then removed horns, disassembled and found tons of caked crud and salt (pictures). Cleaned the parts with soap and water using toothbrush. Gently cleaned plastic reed and reassembled. Blew into each horn and the sound was perfect. Hardest part was screwing the horns back into place using my left hand.

What was preventing air flow and who did you solve it? I've got same issue, just been too lazy to run new air hose, and more importantly, get the old horn out...looks painful!

No need to run new air hose at all! Disconnect hose from compressor on one end and horns on the other. Now just blow through and if air makes it through that's all you need. If you just follow my instructions above you will be fine! The resistance was from the crud in the horns.

You just blew through it, no compressed air?

Yes I detached the tube from the air compressor and also detached from horns then blew through one end and air can be felt coming out the other end. That established there was no blockage in the tube. You go to your boat and you'll see exactly what Im talking about. Not a big deal to do and when I disassembled the horns and cleaned them I blew through them and heard the sweet sounds of a double trumpet....I then new once reassembled everything would work and it did!

I have a single trumpet on my trailerable boat. Living here in Florida, the mud dauber wasps would plug up the thing in no time. Like once a month or so I would have to clean it out. The solution I found, which you might want to consider, is a screen that is made for an RV propane furnace vent. I used 3M 5200 to mount it in the mouth of the trumpet. Voila! No more wasps.

Did you ever find your horn? I need the same one. If not, what did you use to replace it, and how?
