Southport Marina - Kenosha. H412.

I have been on CSR for a year, but more in just observation then actively participating in the forums. We traded our 36' Silverton in this fall for a 410 Sundancer and couldn't be happier. Now, we just need to get to April so we can start boating again!

hakunamatata - welcome to the active side of CSR! April cannot come soon enough - we drove past our slip yesterday just to get a "fix".

Thanks DaFish. We were actually up in K-Town last weekend checking on things. We spend a bit of time in your neck of the woods during the summer as we have some great friends who keep their boats up there and usually will spend a couple of nights over to hang out in addition to anchoring either off of the beach or rafting up in the playpen just south of the marina. We love SP, but Reefpoint is a great marina and Carrie and crew continue to make it better.

Great idea

We moved from Reefpoint to Lake Shore Towers - still in Racine, but not as busy - if we wanted to go to the Dells, we would go to the Dells - we didn't want it every weekend.

How did you manage to get into Lake Shore Towers? I thought those slips were tied to the condo owners? Does the marina get to use the pool and other ammenities the condo offers? How is parking? How are the prices compared to Reefpoint? Sorry for the questions, just know of a couple of people who had expressed interest in that marina.

To answer your specific questions: The slips (dockominiums) originally were ties to the condos, but have been separate for a while. Most slips come with assigned underground parking, use of the pool, workout room, locker rooms and two party rooms. We also have gated parking for guests. Including purchase price, our breakeven cost is less than five years. Excluding purchase price, our annual expenses are a third of what we were paying at Reefpoint for a larger slip (40' at Reefpoint, 54' at LSTM).

PM me if you want additional details
