Survey and Sea Trial tomorrow

And when you do replace the trim pump bracket get a stainless one. Many vendors on ebay have them. Rusting seems to be a very common problem with the OEM ones as they are just painted mild steel.

Or if you are handy use the steel one and make two plastic strips to put under the mounting flanges to raise it up. They rust because the sit in any water you may get from the vent or any other leak. My bilge is dry but I still made the strips in case I rinse things and water pools near the trim pump. Good luck - I love my 270

Those are great suggestions, I wondered why that part rusted when the rest of the engine room was so clean.

if you do it yourself, be certain to disconnect the batteries. There is a very large feed wire supplying this pump, and a live buss bar in the center (the screw that holds the plastic cover is actually screwed into the live buss bar. It is really easy to arc that supply since everything on that bracket including the bracket is grounded. And yes to stainless - I replaced mine with stainless to be done with it forever. The whole process can be done without disconnecting anything (electrical or fluid lines).

Not sure if it is the same but i have seen stainless (might be aluminum) brackets on eBay

Thanks to everyone for the replies and helpful info on what is a big purchase for me.

The AC works. Evidently it takes 3 minutes from any thermostat change before the air kicks on according to the AC tech and that proved to be true, it ran after that for a couple hours and all was good. Thank goodness.

The charger will be replaced for $300. Seems reasonable.

The trim bracket will not be replaced, I'll sort that out with the excellent info provided.

The flush system will be installed and I sent a 20 degree through hull transducer to the dealer so that'll get done while she's dry.

Sent payment and that's it, bought her!!!

wow - for 60 bucks I will replace mine next time with stainless.

Glad to hear everything checked out! I'll bet you will love this boat. Enjoy!

Congratulations and welcome to the family!
Where are the pictures?

Congrats on pulling the trigger.

Like the others have said, we need pictures or it just plain didn't happen!

Wish I was picking her up this weekend, I'll have to try and be patient as it won't be until next week. Looks like I can only upload 1 pic at a time with tapatalk.

Looks good. Very shiny. In FL if you keep it on the hard when not in use do you get fowling without a bottom paint or is there special wax you use on the bottom.

They had just waxed the hull and did a nice job. This boat was stored in a high and dry before it was sold. I plan to keep it on a lift. People definitely bottom paint boats that are kept in the water but not on hard to my knowledge.

Hey Adam, just saw the thread. Congrats on the new boat! We also are in Bradenton and spend most of our time cruising around Anna Maria, anchored at Jewfish or Passage Key. We have a 2008 240DA with blue hull (no name on stern). Give a shout if you see us on the water. Would love to see the boat.

Dave and Beth.

Hey thanks Dave, will do! We spend time at many of the same places As you do. We live on a bayou off the Manatee River so we are in there a lot as well, especially when it's windy and we like cruising to the restaurants there. Will keep an eye out, our boat is named Double RR. Would be great to check out a younger Sundancer
