Hello everyone and greetings from Maryland! My wife and kids are very excited about purchasing our first boat after spending countless summers on friends and relatives boats or pontoon's. We look forward to talking with owners about common problems that may arise and sharing upgrade ideas, etc.

Welcome aboard!! Hope you enjoy having your very own cruiser!!!

What year is your boat? There are threads by year/model where you'll find really helpful, specific info about everything from parts and maintenance to "how do I" from people who may have the exact same features as you do. And if you add the year to your boat/details info, others will be able to respond very easily when you have questions.

Thanks for the welcome. I have only run across 2 have looked at some of the forums and blogs(which many go unanswered), but I
have not run across any weekenders yet. I'm sure they are out there!

Welcome to CSR. Like Tgirl has said, the classic forum is where most of us WE classic owners hide out. If there's anything we can do just give us a shout

Welcome aboard. I owned a green 1988 300 Weekend with twin 350's for almost 10 years. Was a great boat with good speed and fairly economical to run. Was the boat that got me committed to Sea Ray.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the warm welcome!. I joke to others that even thought we are excited about finally being boat owners and not just riders, somewhere down the line..she will want to move on to bigger!(LOL). Planning a serious interior facelift this off season to bring Quality Time into the 21st century.

In about $30,000 from now, you'll wish you were riders

Even other boaters say it can get expensive owning a boat, but I've done other things that came close. It's time for a new adventure. Happy wife, happy life. weather was great yesterday, helped clean-up the marina and had time to apply a fresh coat of bottom paint. Still waiting on my decal lettering.

Just sold my 300 WE, what a fantastic boat! Built like a tank and really handles well. We sold and went to a trailerable 215 Express Cruiser. Moving in the late spring to SC and the 215 will better suit our needs to get out on the water. The 300 served us well. Stayed every weekend aboard from Friday night to Sunday night.

We cant wait for the next season to start! Did your 300 WE have a generator? This generator will run for about 5 minutes then shut down. Probably won't be able to figure it out until spring and in the water.

Yes it did, but had no spark. I removed it with thoughts of repairing it and never got around to it. It went with the new owner. If we went anywhere and need power while anchored I would borrow a Honda 2000 to get us by.

Does it run without a load? Have you checked the oil?

And the impeller, and the governor....? Impeller's an easy DIY, governor can get grouchy with either too little or too much oil.

Heading towards the marina tomorrow. Will check. Thanks

P.S. Depending on what model generator, it may be hard to find where to drain/fill the governor--on mine, you have to remove a couple of other parts before you see the tiny little word engraved on it--can't remember if it says "fill" or "oil," but I never would have found it inspecting the generator fully assembled.

There are a few mechanics at this marina that have sea rays's, including the last owner who I will check with once the season begins prior to 1 April.

What marina you going to use. I live down in havre de grace and keep my sea ray at Tidewater marina.
