Can anyone tell me if a blue tooth adapter can be installed onto this unit. The front says AUX but there's no input jacks. Pulled the unit out to see if something was on the back but cables were not long enough to completly remove. Before pulling the system apart I thought someone with more experience might have some advice.
Thanks,
Nick

Looks like your AUX IN is in the back of the unit and might need a manufacturer specific cable

Almost any RCA based bluetooth device will work. I use a Fusion BT100 - works like a champ. eBay, Amazon, etc., all have them.

+1 to what MancaveII says above. I have a CMD4 and have an Aux jack(3.5mm) mounted right beside the unit. I have a Miccus receiver plugged in that works flawlessly. Put a Miccus Bluetooth transmitter in the TV headphone jack and play the TV through the stereo system as well.

Yes, the CMD4 has rear AUX RCA inputs. They are the red leads. In order, I suggest the Wet Sounds BTCV, Roswell Cybox and lastly the JL/Cerwin Vega/Metra units, which all roughly the same.

Thanks everybody for all your help. This is great news. Now just have to get to the back of the unit.

My Cmd4A Aux is wired into the media TV system so the cockpit speakers will play TV audio for the cockpit TV's. I want bluetooth to stream pandora so decided to buy a current model Clarion M606 as a replacement and for only a couple hundred. It has bluetooth and its wiring, I'm told, is backward compatible to the CMD4. I am taking a risk but to keep the number of operating units down, I decided to go replacement. Lets see if it works out.

Fusion BT100 connected to AUX jacks..Perfect.

How do you get to the AUX jacks?

You will need to access the rear of the head unit to find the AUX cables. If there is enough slack in the cables, the cmd4 is easy to remove. Or if there is a removable panel to gain access to the rear of the had unit.

I use a Bluetooth adapter plugged into a FM transmitter-the kind you get for your car. Many transmitters have the bluetooth built in. My newest one was $10 on Amazon.

Okay unscrewed the Clarion head unit, no go, there is not enough slack to pull it out more that 1/2 inch. Pulled the DC panel and see the cables bundled together. I see an aux cable (RCA cables red and white) with black caps that I can get to. Are these the aux cables that I can use for the Fusion bluetooth adapter. Also can I wire the Fusion adapter into the radio circuit breaker or will that put too much load on the 25amp breaker?

There are 4 pair on the CMD4 and all use red and white plugs, but each has different color pigtails. You need the red pigtails.

The BT will not add too much to a 25A breaker. if all thats on that breaker is the head unit, 25A is actually 2X too high.

Pull the DC panel. It will come out. The wire are just hung up on the shelf in the back.

Okay got to the back of the radio and the red pigtail Aux jacks. Which wires are the ground and power wires in the back of the radio so that I can power up the BT100?
