Official (1982-1988) 270DA Thread

1977 RS Camaro.
That car has been gone for a few years now.
This is my present car. Most recent pic that I have uploaded.

I'm looking to do some upgrades this coming year on my 270.
First is the original interior needs to be replaced in the cabin.
The dash bezel that holds the gauges and switches is in very rough shape. Any ideas on replacements?

Going to be hauling out at the yacht club in two weeks and the club wants me to mark where the straps for the crane are supposed to go. I have never hauled out before and have no idea what to tell them. Anyone have any advice? 1988 270 DA

Thanks,
Mike

New to the site as of today.
I have 1982 270 Sundancer with twin 5.0 liters.
I will try to post some pictures later this week. I found one picture on my photobucket account

Welcome Aboard!

Thanks, I just started pulling all of the original interior. It was in decent shape but was very outdated. Still not sure on a color yet as it has to go with the original tan carpet headliner and brown carpet.
What did you use for your wood flooring? It looks great.
Any idea where I could get a new gauge bezel which holds the switches and fuses. Mine is in horrible shape.

We chose a simulated wood, vinyl flooring from a floor shop near us. It's a flexible, floating type floor with planks that overlap and stick together.
I used floor adhesive to secure it in place as i went along. Teak Trim holds it down in areas too. Two seasons and it's holding up great.

Sorry, can't help with the gauge bezel replacement.

KC Sundancer, I recently purchased 1986 270 that has the water tank where the generator would be installed by searay. I am putting a generator where searay would install it. My question is does anyone know where the water tank would be installed in a 270 equipped with a generator.
Regards, Time Off

Does any one know where the water tank on a1986 270 Sundancer is located when it has a generator?
Thanks Time off

Starboard side in front of the water heater?
That would be my guess if it was still installed in the engine room.
I personally would move the water tank up under the forward v-berth to get the weight forward of the boats center of gravity.
It would help with planing and fuel economy.

On my alphas the prop rotation is the same on both of them. Is this standard?
If it is, why?

I thought Lh Rh was standard.

Hi folks,

Looking for a replacement steaming/anchor light and thought I would ask here. It is similar to their Perko 1196.

Looks like this::

If anyone has a lead I would be grateful.

I am replacing the fuel filter/water separator on my 1985 70 DA with 7.4 L carbureted engine. It is a Racor type with the drain plugs on the bottom. I noticed, when looking up the part number, the Prior owner installed one designated for outboard use. Does anyone know the correct part number for the canister. I will appreciate also learning the part number for the in-line filter and a supply source. Thanks.

Hi Everybody. First time posting. I recently joined the Eighties 270 DA club. I own an 85 270DA with twin 190HP 4cyl engines.

I'm missing the button on the side of my Quicksilver Throttle Control. Has anyone had luck tracking down parts for these units, or am I better off replacing with a newer throttle control?

I think most of the lights were from Attwood. Try calling 616-897-9241 or 616-897-2225 (Jamie)
Its been a few years but Jamie helped me with most of my lighting problems.

Looks like I'll be replacing the seals for my side windows and front hatch this winter... The massive storm Saturday made some leaking evident. Anyone replace the side window seals? Is it best to remove them completely?
