1997 330 Sundancer Windlass foot peddles

I have a new to me 1997 330 Sundancer, the foot peddles for the windlass don't work and I can't find the power issue, is there a power supply button to turn on other then the dash switch for main power? Unfortunately the guy I bought the boat from couldn't figure it out either. Is there a fuse on the foot peddles circuit? my Doral had no switch, use the peddles or use the helm switch.
any suggestions would be very helpful.

Mine work when they want. I think the switches wear out. I think I'll just replace with new.

when you say the switches do you mean the foot peddles them selves? I don't have any other switch.

My foot peddles quit working when I popped the solenoid fuse.... My windlass solenoid is located on the fire wall in my ER. I'm sure your configuration is different, but for a .50 cent fuse I would try it.

I have a switch at the dash also. My "down" peddle works most of the time, my "up" will work occasionally if I rock my foot in the right direction. I assume it is corrosion in the switch itself, I may try and take them apart in the off season.

I just replaced my switches (foot pedals) for the windlass. You might not need to replace them and it might not be a power issue.

First thing to do is to unscrew them from the deck. 6 screws total. Once the screws are out you'll need to pry them up from the deck. I used a small screwdriver and gently went all the way around the switch.

Once they're pried loose you'll see the cables where they attach to the switch. They're big wires, like battery cables. I took a screwdriver and placed it across the two terminals. Almost like jumping a starter motor. Once I jumped the terminals the anchor went up and down so I knew it wasn't a power issue.

You can remove the switch from the deck by removing the wires. Make sure to tie off the wires so they don't fall back into the hole. Once you have the switch off the deck you can remove the rubber from each side which exposes the plastic switch inside. There are two screws to remove which exposes the internals of the switch. There is a piece of metal which makes a connection when the the switch is depressed. Mine was severely corroded.

I could have sanded it down but all that was going to do was leave me more maintenance once a year so I just replaced them, but they can be sanded down and would probably work well for a year until the same thing happened again.

I don't have the foot pedals as mine is a 92. I think the solenoids themselves are giving mine grief. They work intermittently but work great for the day when I rap a screwdriver handle to them a few times

Looked at the boat yesterday, took the peddles offs the deck and there is no wire attached. Hooked them up to the proper terminals and they work perfectly. I would only assume the gent that owned the boat prior had small kids that were playing with the peddles..
