Where's the boating on the Lake of the Ozarks Thread?

Im at the 17mm, Pogue Hollow Cove...Same cove as Marine Max.

My boat is there right now for the 2nd time in 4 weeks. First time was for a gen repair "testing" which was fixed. Unfortunately, now the gen will run 10-15 min then shuts itself off. Supposed to be ready for pick up Friday afternoon. Come find me in Evergreen this weekend and let's get this page ROCKING. Blue hulled 44 DA. "Blame It On My A.D.D"

I dock on the gas dock at Marine Max. It is a Great Lake and I have spent a lot of summers there since the mid 70's. Lots of changes! We used to run a 15 foot Glatron with a 65 Mercury. Still boating is boating and loved every minute of it. We stay on our boat while there so have no condo or house and we think it's perfect. We spend a lot of nights anchored out. There are several good locations to go to but if you go to Drake Horbour in Warsaw beware of the locals! They don't like our kind! It is a beautiful ride and still worth the trip. I think some big boats in the past have ruined it for us more curtious boaters

Steve, the wife and I have been thinking hard about doing an overnight even though we have a condo. What are good coves/locations to overnight on the hook?

I've been doing LOTO since I was 3 years old in 1972 and cut my boating teeth on a 16 foot Century my dad bought from Links Landing. Late 90's boat my first boat and lived aboard on the weekends at The Moorings. Daughter turned into a sleepwalker so no more live aboard. Took a 10 year break and then back to the lake. Kept our boat at MarineMax slip x-10 before buying the condo. Love the dock life but got tired of paying the same amount for slip rent as I could for a condo with a 16x44 slip.

Docjason,

There are tone of great spots to stay out it just depends on where you want to be. F you have best and need a reference point for them for some sucerity or you want the total peace and quiet. We have stayed in the state park "T". Go under grand glaze bridge and stay straight. Girls out cove to left and the channel to the park to the right. Nice and quiet but good view of lights and bridge. Nice quiet coves down past big dicks. On left. Camp Sabra in the Gravois arm is great for sunsets but don't tell anyone that's our favorite. Hidden cove upstream from tan tar a is a really cool cove also. If you ever want to take the run up to Warsaw it's fantastic. Takes about 6 hour ride one way and you must have navigation for the channel it does get skinny. Do it with the marine max trip the first time gives you a good sense of comfort. If you are out of the way for the morning bass boats and jet skis your good!

I've been trying to motivate the group I raft with to check out Evergreen cove. If you find yourself on the Gravois arm, we will be in the back of Mill Creek cove (MM 4 - Gravios arm).

We either hit Evergreen or Golfball(Longwell cove, second cove down from the toll bridge). Currently boat is called Anonymous(getting changed). Our place is actually at Indian Pointe, the condo complex on the point in the that cove.

Speaking of Camp Sabra, both our kids attend Sabra for 5 years and were then counselors there. We call hidden cove, Snake cove or skinny dip cove, for obvious reasons.

I saw camp in full swing this summer with tons of kids of all ages and it looks like they have fun! What a great summer job for your kids to be working there after attending too. As far as being sold first I've heard of it. I can't believe they would give up such a well attended camp and resource.

Thanks for the overnight recommendations. Evergreen was empty on Saturday

Which cove are you calling Evergreen?
Evergreen is directly across from BWJ cove. Evergreen condos on your left. Clint Boyers house across from them. The official name of the cove is Anderson Cove, not to be confused with Anderson Hollow Cove which is known as Party Cove.

I heard Camp Sabra was sold to a developer. Is this correct?
The property is owned by the St Loius JCC. I think when it was donated to them there was a stipulation about not be able to sell it.

Any interest in a CSR raft up this weekend ?

Yeah likewise I will not be down this weekend. Probably won't be down again until labor day weekend - Daughter starts school and will have Volleyball and soccer using weekend time. Man summer sure does fly by.

Looks like my shedule may have cleared and LOTO will be on the agenda next weekend

LOTO CSR raft up, any interest ?
