This is terrible news....

....And yes, eye candy was something else... I just got my new to me boat and I was on top of the world... Then he pulled up and made me look like a dingy...

Hahaha.....I know the feeling. Reminds me the time when we pulled in to Atlantis marina in Nassau.

Just a quick shot at usual suspects.

Looking for something to do the weekend of the 24th. Anyone doing anything? Looking at a marina in Northport called Brittania Yachting or something. Any thoughts?

Bob, brittania is in my back yard there are a few good restaurants in the area. If your interested were in Huntington the harbor before Northport we can meet up.

If you guys end up going out to dinner or something in joes area let me know I'll come join ya. Maybe I'll drag the crew or there to have a little bday dinner for yours truly. Or maybe I'll just commandeer joes boat for the night

I finally got a video from my son's GoPro.

We've done various maneuvering in the past. The biggest move we've done one year was moving a raft of 14 as one. Needless to say this year we've done something totally different, and some people being too involved in their own thing probably didn't notice what has transpired. As you guys recall, upon arrival of the group from Statue of Liberty anchorage, we had couple of things to take care of prior connecting to the raft local folks began building. As I pulled in, I saw Brian to my port (he secured the port side of the raft to be built). Greg connected with Jonathan, who was on my STBD side. Since Joe needed to deploy his tender on his STBD side, he connected to me. While Little Beach was getting deployed, we had more boats getting attached to Brian's port side. In the next 30 min or so, we ended up with two rafts. The PORT side (my side of the raft) had now 7 boats, the other raft (where Greg connected to Jonathan) had about 5 boats.

We had good 70-100' between the two rafts. The question came up "what should we do"? I said, "we'll just connect them together". Here's how....we ran two long lines between the rafts, one at the bow and the other at the stern. Having Little Beach deployed and ready to roll, we've used to assist being a "bow thruster". Beach Inn had the engines running, so I took the control of the helm, while Joe operated the tender. The rest is here to see.

I have to say, when you have great team work and communication, a lot of cool tasks can be accomplished. Well done guys. :smt038

Alex, that was great teamwork. Being our first raft up I was very impressed with the way you guys worked together. I wonder what the total weight of the boats that had to be joined up to make that raft up was? My boat probably weighed in at about 62,000 pounds that day.

Brian, I'm glad you could join us. This was just just a season opening rendezvous. As the weather warms up and we can enjoy the water activities, it's a lot more fun. So, make sure to join us sometime in mid season (maybe our paths can cross during the flotilla).

My rough estimate on the total weight of all the boats, including the day trippers, is in the range of 450,000 to 500,000LBs. During the flotilla, we've easily pushed it over 1,000,000LBs. I'd love to beat these records. It's always an adventure.

All moved by a single Honda 30 hp! Outboard (kinda)
The comfort level is usuallly high with this group. So no worries!!
