Looks like cruising this season is going to be less expensive - at least so far. Saw crude oil was down again today.

Earlier this month. Area I was in was round the 2.45-2.55 range. Filled at the 2.45 to take us back home.

Saw one place --- 3.75. This was within a few miles of the mid 2's. Needless to say - no 3.75 fuel for us. They were selling fuel at that location, had a truck coming in later that day.

After I got back to home marina, filled up off the truck. 1.84! Scheduled 24 hours in advance, 250 minimum.

What's your thoughts - will this hold?

Mark

Prices will hold until the shale oil industry is crushed, then the price of petroleum will go up. I'm sure that event will coincide with a significant reduction in production from our friends in the middle East.

I think Blaster is right on. OPEC or at least the saudis want to break the shale market. I was just thinking about how fuel/ gas prices could be different this season in the northeast. Here on the north shore of long island 4.15 -3.99 was the seasonal norm this past season. Anything will help!!

I don't remember the prices off hand but I loved last summer. I was running my 420DA for not much more $$$ than my 280DA would have cost. Diesel was less than gas, don't know if that's the case everywhere else. I'm thinking this coming summer will be a good one too.

No road tax woody......its like buying home heating oil......they dont dye taxed gasoline so the marine prices still reflect the road tax......I paid 3.60 fo 90 octane non ethanol gasoline two weeks ago in key largo and ft lauderdale. .....I hope it goes lower as we have big plans this summer

I wish oil would go back up to the $100 a barrel mark. Would sure save me a lot of money if it did.

The prices on the northshore are ridiculous, I'm moving the boat to Huntington and will travel across for fuel I believe it's lower in Conn.

1.95 at the pump around here. Water prices are generally about a buck a gallon higher during the season. My boat is wrapped for the winter, so I don't know how much the gas docks are getting now.

Mark,

Boating has been much more fun with the lower fuel prices last few months.......I think the smile on my face while cruising is directly related to the cost of fuel......Needless to say, there is definitely price gouging.... If Anchor Petroleum is at $1.84, why are some places not to far away at $3.75? I can't imagine it's that old of fuel that they paid that high of a price recently. If so, they need to drop the price and move on.
Hopefully the drop in price reaches the Bahamas......

Steve - you might guess where the 3.75 was - the marina I was at for a few days. Decided not to call them out by name.

Assuming based on email you are back on the east coast - who do you fuel from there? I use Admiral.

Northern Cal....I sold the diesel boat and the Cobalt isn't ready but away from the marina I paid $2.02 for diesel for the truck. Two miles away I saw $3.25. Gas has been about$2.20-2.40.

Mark,

I used LukFuel. Good prices (on 11/30 I paid $2.20) and great service. They were turned back by WIM management when I tried getting the fuel delivered there. As you may know now, there’s a new policy (no fuel delivery for transients). So, the truck met me just across City of Hollywood marina. They just had to add $0.05 to pay their share to the property. If you need, I can text you their contact info.

If I recall, Steve used some other company.

Mark,

I use Anchor Petroleum....I paid $1.92 plus tax back in mid December. In Key West, I paid $2.36 which I Thought was pretty good for being in the main harbor.

Our marina hadn't gotten to winter pricing yet when I fueled a few weeks ago....still $3.99,even though land price had dropped below $2. That was adding insult to injury, having just done haul out, out drive service, and some repairs....not to mention nearly empty tanks after running them down to prep for haul out. The price may be that high still, but I won't know because I won't been needing more any time soon!

Will have to win the Powerball if I ever want big beasts like you all have!

$3.89 - 91 valvetec non ethanol in upstate new york the day the closed the dock. We'll see that price again in the spring when they open to clear old stock, but I'm hoping it goes down after their first fill up.
