Come on along Wesley, No salt water expect at the salt water aquarium in Chattanooga. There is 2 aquariums one salt / one fresh. When they opened the Salt water one they put some big shark fins in the river and had a big publicity stunt about sharks coming to Chattanooga:lol:

PS: Tell Paige she can ride with us in the Comfort of the big Slow Sundecks for the long ride to Chattanooga.:lol::smt043:lol:

Charlie, Don't worry about the Depends we will stop and let you jump in the river:lol: Now as too the wife and kids we will be nice let them use the facilities on one of the boats if they have to. They have not been trying to stir up trouble:lol::smt043:lol:

Seriously - Since I'm not getting a whole lot of response back about making plans looks like we may just wing it? Maybe as it gets closer we can try and set some if anybody wants to.

The dates are July 2 thru July 6, Wed thru Sun, most will be arriving on Wed and leaving on Sun. You can go to page 23 of this thread I put together a long post of the highlights so you don't have to read all the pages.
 
This sounds liek a great trip. I was tennatively planning to go, but I didn'y make reservations because I was afraid I wouldn't make it. My fear has proven reality. I have a new line going into our new plant expansion, and trial parts ship July 7th. Which means my schedule around these dates is very unreliable to plan around.

Hopefully you all have a great time and I wish I could make it, but unfortunately you must take me and the 195 off the list :(
 
What time is the run on Thursday morning scheduled to take place? My wife and I are considering but I know we won't get there until Thursday morning.
 
Also, if memory serve, there is a monster grade on the North/West side of Chat. What side are we going to be on? I don't know if I can make it back up the grade!
 
This was kicked around awhile back, it was decided that the trip would be an all day trip so we would have to leave early, there was some talk of 6:30 AM departure, nothing was ever decided, there was also talk of driving up to Chat instead of running the boats, they had it figured at a 9 to 10 hour day in the boats in July. Maybe Chuck will pop in here later and have a little more info. You will be coming up I75 to Chat. and if you are arriving fairly early maybe you could just meet us at the dock area. I know I'm not much help but that is the basics of what has been discussed. Here is Chucks email: chuck1@ssg-i.com send him an email if he does not pop in .
 
Sorry been offline all day. We are going to be on the North East side of Chat. You should have no problem with the grade since you will be on I75. The grade you are talking about is on I24 West of Chat. As to the run on Thursday it still open to debate. We've talked about maybe just doing a shorter run with just one lock and lunch at a place with some of the best ribs on the river.

It's hard for us to commit to anything this far out, but will likely be up on Watts Bar over the 4th. My inlaws have a camper at Euchee, so we will most likely make it home base as we have done for a couple of years. We were out on Chickamauga this weekend. The water levels are still low, but they should start rising any day now. I'm ready for summer!

We would like to attend this rendezvous. Question, what kind of lodging options are there or are we too late? We would also like to bring our jet ski, but are wondering if there are enough marinas throughout the day journeys to fuel up once in a while. :)
