CSR Northeast Flotilla 2015

Looks great to me. Hmmm, I envision promo materials with this picture in it.........

I also agree with Joe, it is great to see Corporate keeping an eye on what we do and hopefully taking pride in making a wonderful product that we all are enjoying to the fullest!

If it wasn't for that damn Wellcraft in the middle of the raft.

I hate to say it but I thought that was what Greg was referring to.....

We still love you Ross.

Oh ya, missed that. Sorry, I am little slow by the end of the week.

As I’m scrolling through the pics, it just amazes me what our group have accomplished over the years. Every time we do the flotilla, I feel like I’m reuniting with my family. It’s been just over a week since we’re back and I miss you all already.

We had a bit late start, but took off Fri from Norwalk. We’ve been greeted be a beautiful sunny with light wind cruising day. With advanced arrangement, we stopped by Greenport to pick up our table offerings from one of local restaurants and then continued on to West Neck Harbor, where dropped the hook just before sunset. Ron and Harold were there few hours prior my arrival.

Just as we left Greenport, a seaplane landed right near the beach, on my stbd side.

Bright and early Sat am we enjoyed morning swim in very warm water. Arlene and Harold took the kids for shells picking on the beach. It’s a gorgeous day on water, so we spoiled ourselves just enjoying water activities and waiting for the rest of the group to arrive.

Sunday morning we had more boats joining the raft. Considering that WNH is the port to enjoy the nature, we take advantage of the weather and maximized our day with water activities.

Just before sunset was the perfect time to take dinghy tour into the heart of the harbor.

As always enjoying beautiful evening with live entertainment brought to us by Tim (part of the Beach Inn crew).

Monday morning, it’s time to raise the anchors and head to Newport.

image.jpg

As we making our way to Newport, just off our STBD side we spot vessel Fountainhead.

image.jpg

When you see ships like this on your course, you know you’re near big city with very heavy marine traffic.
Welcome to Newport!

It looks like I’m missing pics from Red Parrot. If anyone has them, please post your pics.

Tuesday morning we’re off for biking, scooter and scooter coups tour. First stop is Fort Adams.

Our next stop is Brenton Point Park for lunch. As we left Fort Adams, some real heavy fog rolled in. It was very cool to ride in the fog hugging the shoreline.

If anyone has pics from the picnic, please post them.

It was windy day with some overcast, which was perfect for the activities we were doing. As the night rolled in, the nature went to rest and we enjoyed a wonderful evening, which is pretty much as good as it gets on the Northeast. This is one of my favorite times to explore Newport harbor (it was about 1-1:30am).

It’s time to say goodbye to Newport, we’re heading to E.Greenwich.

BTW, before I move on to EG, quick note about getting fuel from Casie’s barge for those who plan on using them in the future. Make sure to have advanced arrangement. They’re now focusing on larger yachts/mega yachts and get very busy. You need at least couple of days notice to have them service you. It also takes a while to get them on the phone, so take that into a count.

Hello East Greenwich, another jewel of the Northeast.

Unfortunately I don’t have Gopro shots of the run, hopefully Joe has some. As you can imagine, the pics don’t do the justice. Just take my word for it, it’s tons of fun for all, kids and adults.

It’s time to see who the winner is.

Crew from vessel “Flipper” ended up in the lead.

Good bye EG, we’re heading to Block.

Our kids are getting creative. They decided to get into some local business and at the same time help the boating community. They made up the signs and kept themselves busy for a while collecting garbage from moored/anchored boats. It turned out kind of profitable for them.

As we headed for biking around the island, we happened to spot someone (if I recall it was little Greg) from our group parasailing.

The weather was excellent, so were the sunsets.

My quick write-up is nothing but scratching the surface in terms of all the things that went on and all of the activities we did. The only way to get the full pic, you just have to be there as participant.
We had few crews who really wanted to join, but had some roadblocks that kept them out this time. We miss you guys and hope to see you next year.

Cheers to all,
Alex.

Take a look at the pic Searay used for the promo for thier raft up contest. It was from the 2015 flotilla. I think it was Deans drone footage. Can we submit that photo to win the contest?

Hhaha...thats too funny...should I speak to my lawyer. I'd settle for a 48 dancer and they can used it all they want...lol!
