230 SLX Thread!

We went out for our first ride of the year today! The water is still pretty cool, about 70-71 degrees each time I checked.

The kids are chomping at the bit to get into the water, but it will probably be a few more weeks before it will be warm enough. They do have wetsuits though, lol!

And just for you Glenn, she's tucked into the shop now waiting! (sorry, had to crack on you!)

I never got around to ordering the Sea Dek. That project may just have to wait for next winter.

Success!

Too chilly to take a dip (water and air temps), but fired right up and ran it for about an hour!

Looking good Glenn, congrats on your first outing - you beat me to it!
Love your copilot as well!

Took the kids and some of their friends out yesterday. We had beautiful weather over here.

The water has warmed up to about 77 degrees. Too cold for me, but the kids didn't mind one bit. I continue to be amazed at how much power this boat has with the 350 Mag/Bravo 3 combo. Effortless launches with 3 good sized young men on a large tube. I love the precision of the digital throttle too.

She is still hitched up to the truck, full of fuel, and waiting patiently to be taken out again today for another round!

Thanks Lawyerman, I do love this lake. As our drought luck would have it, this past week and thru yesterday, we've had overcast weather and light showers. Feel bad for all the kids out there camping and on boats. We had a family with five teens coming up, and canceled on Wednesday when we saw the forecast. Love those kids, but don't need to be cooped up with them (off lake) for a weekend!

2xls, is the boat tucked away IN YOUR SHOP waiting for today's outing? :shakesfist

Nah, but it is still hitched up to the truck in front of the shop, lol. We are probably going to head out here in a few hours!

I was wondering if anyone can help me with a bravo 3 question? I just got a new 230 slx 350 bravo 3 and used to have a 210 select 350 alpha 1. I notice with this bravo 3 it needs almost no trim while underway, is this normal? My old 210 alpha I could trim up halfway while underpower. Is there a difference between the two? Thanks in advance

I probably only trim mine up 4 or 5 shots, so I would say it's normal. Mine certainly uses a lot less trim than my old 185 Sport did.

I rarely use the trim on my 270 SLX. It's a combination of the motor, outdrive, and the construction of the hull.

Hey quick question, I am looking at getting a 2015 230 SLX, but the one question I couldn't get an answer on was how tall the boat was, trailered, with the tower folded down. I know depending on the trailer it could change, but how tall is yours?

I have an 8ft door to store it in my barn, and that is a deal breaker.

Hey! I wouldn't be able to measure until next weekend, but it could vary depending on trailer right? 2xls has his stored at his house, and may be able to answer...please hold. :)

I just ran out and checked the door on my shop. It's an 8' garage door type without an actuator (i.e.- manual open).

The opening is framed up right at 95" and my boat goes through just fine. I do have to make sure the door is completely open so I have the full 95" opening though. I left the door hanging down slightly once and hit it with the tower when I was pulling it out.

Hope this helps!
