Official 330 Express Cruiser / 340 Amberjack 1997-2003 Thread

So I finally found my parts manual and I want to order some parts....how the heck do I do this? When I google any of the sea ray part numbers nothing comes up. My only option can't be just the dealer, is it? No place online to search for oem Sea Ray parts??

From my understanding (I could be wrong) all of the manufacturers of factory searay parts have contracts with searay stating they cannot sell directly to the purchaser. You must go through a searay dealer such as Marine max.

Anyone use an in hull transducer or know if we have a spot for one?
I have a airmar high speed through hull trans in my fwd bilge left side under my air conditioning pump.

I guess the best spot for in hull would be just fwd of the motors ?

I have two there also. Have no idea what type they are tho

That is where I have my Airmar (Furuno). Just forward of the fan belts on the starboard side.

Mine are actually in the sump dead center of the boat in front of the shower sump. (In the sump with the bilge pumps in front of the engines

My OEM speed and depth transducers are in the same sump as yours. The Furuno is the one in front of the starboard engine which is for sonar. I just upgraded my chartplotter to a garmin 1040xs multifunction so I may switch out the Furuno to a DownView or add one to the port side in front of that engine.

Check with searay-parts.Com / Flounder Pounder. They carry a lot of Oem Sea Ray stuff.

On my 370 I added an 'in hull' ( now, not a THRU hull ) in about the general location as where the thru hulls were located on it. It worked well. I assumed (hope) on the 330 it would be about the same location. I'll test spots anyway, but while it was on the hard I wanted to add depth to my network display. I thought that might be easier than trying to integrate the airmars into the Lowrance and get the network backbone started as well.

We have the thru hull exhaust and the fumes have been bad in the cockpit while at cruise. Anyone else experience this and is there a solution?

so I was out on the boat this weekend and was thinking about this post and forgot to mention that I open the fwd cabin hatch about 4" so when under way and the windshield vent so there is always positive air flow going through the cabin . with the cabin door open and air moving through i think it keeps exhaust off the boat. try that setup and see how it is

Do you guys think there is positive flow through the cabin even when putting with the open vent/open hatch setup? (assuming minimal wind)

Yes, at least while underway. I have been following this set of posts on the fuel / exhaust vapor issues some of you are having. I do not seem to have this happen often. Are you always running with your full canvas and Eisenglass over the windshield? Do you have zippered openings in the Eisenglass or just the window vent? My cabin is vented just fine with just the vent window. Also, when idling or refueling your cabin door should be closed as that will definitely allow a large build up of exhaust fumes in the cabin. Again, might just be my canvas set-up or approach to the cabin door when docking, idling etc. Even underway at low cruising speeds there is more than enough pressure to keep out exhaust fumes from the cockpit area.

My thru hull transducer is mounted just in front of the motors next to the inlet for the AC. Not sure on model but it looks just like the B744 transducer I had mounted on the last boat. It reads accurately at speed and while trolling.

Regarding the fumes, leaving the drop curtain zipped down while running eliminates the fumes. But the other night we had 9 on board and zipped the drop off to make the rear facing seat useable. And we start fishing early springwhen the water temp is only 42 which makes it a little chilly leaving the vent window open all the time. Water temp currently is around 54.

My techie buddy had an app on his phone that read 96 decibels while running. I'm used to it because the 3000 Pursuit we sold had thru hulls exhaust out the side and was loud too. But we never had an issue with fumes.

My custom top extends further aft than stock which I believe contributes to more fumes in the cockpit than normal. I find that running with the back open and the front of the cockpit closed produced the worst exhaust conditions. If it's cold and rainy, I'll keep all the canvas up and open the front vent a bit without issues. In fact, the additional air coming in the vent actually causes the canvas at the back to balloon out while underway. If any canvas is off the back, I have to open the clear plastic above the windshield to avoid fumes.

The exhaust drone at cruising speeds was giving me a headache so I installed a couple of stainless steel exhaust diverters which took the majority of the noise away without hurting performance. The idea of installing underwater exhausts is something worth exploring.

exhaust diverters? can you point me in the right direction for those!?

Basically my running setup right now is eisinglass on, side curtain eisinglass on, rear arch side canvas curtains on. So basically everything up except for the rear aft curtain.

I'm amazed this era of boat doesn't have Co2 detectors. I purchased a Xintex yesterday and will need to run the wiring since there was no CO2 to begin with. Have any of you guys run wiring for a new Co2? If so, where did you place it and where did you pull power from?
