I am sure this has come up before. I am thinking of using SeaDek. What the concensus? Good, bad or indifferent.

That material looks really nice. Are there any advantages other than looks?

put "Seadek" in the search and you'll end up with copious amounts of reading on it...it's been discussed several times recently....good luck.

I just ordered samples a few days ago also. I'm planning on doing either Plasdeck, Flexiteek or SeaDek in my cockpit and on the bridge steps. It would be interesting to see the price difference between them if anyone is willing to share quotes.

I did my swim platform and entrance to the cockpit last year. Feels great on the feet, better footing than the non skid fiberglass and generates lots of compliments. After one year, I have no complaints. I chose it for ease of installation and value compared to the other alternatives. I installed it one morning prior to leaving for a weekend trip, before the family even woke up. PM me if you'd like a picture.

I just got pricing from our canvas guy on SeaDek while the new canvas is being created. Had to rub my eyes at the numbers......maybe next year.

My SeaDek was installed last year and it is great. I have two small ones and kids are always off and on the boat. Didn't have to worry about the bust your butt factor. Both my extended and standard swim platforms were done. I would like to have it on the floor at the captains chair. I am fine with carpet everywhere else. I like the feel of carpet on my feet when it is cool in the evening.

I put it on my swimplatform 2yrs. ago and I went with there white color and found it very hard to get various stains out. Should have gone with a darker color.

Anyone with the "faux teak" SeaDek have any problems with the indentations where they bevel down to the lower laminate? I saw it at the boatshow and found it uncomfortable to walk on barefoot because it's wasn't flat. The entire product was a lot thicker than I expected. They told me on a large enough surface you don't notice it, but it's enough of a concern to push me towards other flat options.

I just received my SeaDek samples and was also surprised by the depth of the grooves and the thickness. I don't think this product is for me so I will be looking at Plasdeck after reading the current threads and positive comments.

I found the feel of SeaDek pretty desirable, but the concern of staining, potential tears/cuts and the few stories I read about the adhesive coming loose (and a couple boats I witnessed with this problem) also helped push me back to Plasdeck. I also had concerns about water absorption, but I see that may not necessarily be a problem with the closed cell construct of the material.

Yes, the "grout" grooves are more deeply cut into the product and not uniformly flat across the surface, but nothing that would cause a tripping hazard. If anything, I think those grooves would assist with drainage. I'd be more concerned with the wear and tear sustainability in higher traffic areas of the boat......would assume that's when the varied depth of the product would show up and start affecting the overall appearance over time.

I can tell you the price of Flexiteek is higher than Plasdeck, and the SeaDek product is not far off of either of them. For my application, Plasdeck won the pricing game hands down.

My Flexiteek installed will cost about $70 per square foot. But keep in mind i have full borders on all edges, hatches and mounts.
THis hasnt been installed yet.

This is what my SeaDek looks like on my swim platform. I like the thickness and softness on the swim platform because my family does a lot of lounging and playing from there. Lots of time spent hanging out on that pad. Mine is a solid mat with a knobby finish, with just the routed indention's for the lettering and cutouts on the extended.

I would be really interested in the Marine Mat in the cockpit. I was looking at new carpet next year anyway. That may make for a better option.

I've had SeaDek through a summer now. Everyone who's walked on it have commented on how comfortable it is. It's also far grippier under foot than the standard Sea Ray non-slip surface. No problems with peeling or staining yet however the boat is stored under cover and washed regularly so I don't know how it'd hold up exposed to the elements constantly or in salt water.

A little late to this party but I have installed the SeaDek on my 310DA this season and so far I'm a fan. It is important to clean the surface thoroughly in order for the adhesive to bond to the surface and it is also important to make sure the edges of each piece is securely attached or you may get water underneath them.

I have the faux teak but don't have any indentations. I love the feel when walking on it and I have much more confidence that I won't be slipping when wet. I'm sure the other products mentioned offer the same quality as well.
