Hi I am Dave from Cairns Australia, recently took the plunge into SeaRay ownership and just wanted to introduce myself.

My 1st foray into big boat ownership is a worthy tale which I will share once I have photo bucketed some pics!

Cheers!

Welcome, Dave! Looking forward to the "story". That color of that water your boat is sitting in is very nice. Great to have you aboard.

Welcome to the bewdy bottler boating site Dave.

Welcome aboard. I can't wait to see pics of the boat and of you and your family/friends using it.

Welcome to the club!

Welcome aboard Dave! Just love Cairns! Some of my family named Favell emigrated there in the late 1880's from the UK and we got to visit their descendents last year. Thouroughly enjoyed the visit and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef was out of this world. We live in a place in the US which is the equivalent of Cairns sans mountains and we just love it. Enjoy your new toy!

Welcome to CSR, Wishing you the best with your new boat!

What does "Tragics" mean in the title of the thread?

I will let Dave from cairns answer - but I interpreted it as the Aussie slang for a "Geek" of some subject or someone who is "obsessed" in something. A short time in Perth WA learnt me some new language - and it seemed to me a lot of Aussie slang uses words that meant the opposite

Welcome aboard! Good luck with your new toy.

Thanks everyone for the welcome.
Tragic = smartass word (slang) for enthusiast
Yes us Ozzies have a lot of slang that does not make sense - its a cultural thing for better or worse. It is fun confusing you yanks though!
Yeah Cairns is a great place but from a boating perspective it can be frustrating as it is consistently windy and you feel that the planets need to align to allow for good boating!
Cheers
Dave

Geesh! It is like you are from the other side of the world!!

Hey Wish, its a small world these days!
You have the same motor as me, have you experienced 'Vapour Lock' before?? We are in our summer (bloody hot!) & I have had 3 occasions recently. Unfortunately it always happens 30kms off shore which as you can imagine is unwanted!!!

Have not had vapor look before. Hope you didn't jinx me. We don't get real hot here. We only had a few days over 90 degrees this year and I wasn't able to boat on any of them. Since I've had my boat in 2006, we have had it out on hot days and traveled upwards of the mileage you're talking about. No problems.

I do have the bravo III drive. don't know if that helps with the cooling side of vapor lock problems.

Welcome to CSR. We flew into Cairns 5 years ago for our honeymoon and then drove up the road a piece to Port Douglas. Scuba diving the Great Barrier was AWESOME !!! (bucket list stuff for me) 1915214_1302451367751_2416821_n.jpg

welcome aboard... It nice to hear from someone where it is not snowing... Enjoy your Summer boating...
