Hello@all,

my name is Peter. When we bought our old Lady, I found this forum. Sometimes I have read somethink, for Information. Mostly found what I am looking for. But now I need help :smt017

We want to replace the stickers of our 340 Sundancer from 1998
Is it possible to buy new stickers as "spare part" from Sea Ray, or exsits another posibility?

BR from Germany,
Peter

Hi Peter, welcome to the forum! You could try Sea Ray, but I got mine replaced from a guy on eBay. He makes them to order and they are excellent. You can ask for custom colors if you wish too. I forget his name, but the cost was about $35US with shipping for all new Sundancer (with the sunrise), and 330 stickers. Just go to eBay and type in Sea Ray emblems or something like that, they will come right up, that is how I found him. You will also find replacements for the chrome SR as well, through another guy. I bought these too, and they are awesome! Makes your boat look much better even after all these years! I think yours is the same as mine, but is marketed as a 340 in Europe, but maybe I’m wrong. Good luck!

Bennett! You beat me again and you remembered his name! This is the guy you should contact, he is great!

Thanks to all for quick answers

Tomorrow we are at the boat and on Saturday/Sunday we will have a 10 hour Trip to our witer storage. (Mostly on channels and with several looks)
With this I do some foto´s for posting here. If it is possible, I will order the stickers in the US. Mayby by one of the proposed posibiltys.

By klicking the Foto´s you can see the "Wave-Runner" (It is a holiday report from me, on my brother´s site)

Matt I remembered because I ordered again from him and have his email saved in my contacts. I have a 2013 model aluminum I beam trailer and do not like the graphics on it. David made me some more SR graphics to more customize the trailer. He is a great guy. I contacted him directly and paid again via PayPal.

We redid ours from david@shabestari.com too. Excellent graphics and prices to match, much cheaper than OEM.

But, have you thought of updating them to the new design like some here have.

Lazy Days did this to his boat and I am thinking of updating like this too.

For what it's worth, buy a rubber wheel for a cordlesss drill and it makes easy work of removing old decals/stickers. Literally five minutes to remove my old Sundancer logos on the sides and abosolutely no damage to paint.

Ihr Boot ist sehr gut aussehende

Meine Bleistift ist grosse.

Well, I don't speak a lick of German, but that first word sounds like "mine", but I'm thinking "My". The last word sounds like "gross", which makes me think of weight or "large", which leads me to "big". Taking a guess that the 3rd word is "is", leaves us with My "something" is big. That's as far as I want to go in figuring this out.

Guten Morgen Peter.

Thanks for the website link. The internet is amazing - with one click, I was able to translate it to English. Nice reading - thank you.

What technique is required? Do you have to clean the residue off the rubber wheel as you work? I assume you meant gel coat rather than paint.

Super easy, just apply enough pressure as the wheel spins and you'll begin to see the vinyl roll right off. If you apply too much pressure, you'll stop the drill, too fast and it won't make enough contact. You'll get the hang of it pretty quick and it works on both gel coats and paints...with paints, you'll be little more gentle as you could heat up the panel and/or bend some areas if you were too aggressive. It really doesn't take much and the wheel is like a big pencil eraser and cleans itself as it goes. The rubber wears off as you use it so you may need more than one for really big jobs.

and yes I meant gel coat... I work on the paint of my truck and cars mostly :)

Fast forward to about 1:50 and you'll see how it makes quick work of the old stripe.

I had updated the graphics on my old girl a while back. I stole the oval idea from my slip neighbor, who had a 200X 320DA. The script Sea Ray had appeared in sticker form in line with the stripe below the window. 4 of these things cost me about $100 from Marine Max - but that was probably 7+ years ago.

Scott, I have one of those rubber wheels, too. I call it the "eraser" tool - it's made by 3M. They work great. For halfway decent stripes, I still prefer to use a little heat and just pull them off. But for old stuff that is either cracking or doesn't come off nicely by pulling, this is the tool to have. One caution... work it ONLY in one direction. If you go the wrong way, the tool will unscrew itself and fly apart in about a millionth of a second. Or, at least, that's how fast it seemed to me when I made that mistake. And... "explode" is a better description of what the tool did in front of me, with all of the rubber flaps flying away like frisbees in all different directions.

Do you know if he makes the gas fuel warning stickers some boats have near the filler openings?

Thanks

Not sure about those. If you have a picture of one, then yes he can. You can certainly email him and ask. I have seen those somewhere and not sure where but eBay I believe.

As for removal of old stripes or graphics, I simply took a hair dryer and a single edged razor blade. Heated them up, "picked" the corner of what I wanted to remove, and they came right off if warm. Toughest part was removing the adhesive residue.
