Please Break Up Your Post With Paragraphs...

I'm with Mike and Frank on this one. I always take the time to proof read something before hitting the button to submit it. Some of the posts on here are difficult to read and difficult to try to eke out what the OP was trying to say. It's hard enough to convey thoughts when you're limited to writing them rather than talking with someone about them, but all of that is made even more difficult when you're trying to wade through a poorly written post.

I agree thoroughly! Edit: And don't forget you can edit your posts if you forget to proofread before hitting submit.

Mike it is a very good point.

Spelling doesn't have to be correct, the mind is clever enough to decipher that and comprehend the correct word.

But breaking it up into paragraphs or points is a must,

Either.

When asking for help, so that it can be understood.

Or

When responding, so that the advice you are passing on can be comprehended.

What I enjoy is the responses in "The Official....." threads that don't quote the person they are responding to! Those threads read like a bunch of random thoughts in succession!

I like to type long disorientation using macro soft words first. Then is the spelling is bad it spel checks it. And if I loose it when I transfere it to the sight I can go back an reterve it from the word ducuments that I have saved on macro soft words which is really good to use when your doing word smithing and the like for publications and open review. Me and my wife love this sight so please make piece with one an others and we can all get along.

....in the voice of Thurston Howell....."E-gads lovey, the grammar on this forum is atrocious"

Agree with MM!

More forum pet peeves:

- Thread titles that give no clue as to the problem/issue or topic.
- Hitting "reply with quote" to a post with 10 damn pics in it.......we all get to see them again (I do love pics though).
- Having to drag info out of a poster to ascertain what exactly is the problem, engine type, outdrive vs inboard, year of boat, etc.
- Posters who ask a legit question and get lots of responses, but disappear for several days after they start the thread.

Thanks, I feel better now.

When I checked the forum earlier today and saw this thread, I thought it was a logical issue, but not something needing my assistance. So, I stayed out of it and checked out other threads.

When I checked the forum tonight and saw that there were 28 replies I thought, "Oh man, what's going on in there?"

I was pleasantly surprised to read that everyone is supportive and agrees.... It's one of the reasons I like this forum. Besides the good support and information, the majority of level headed boaters.

I will just add that when you "Reply with Quote", you can delete content, condensing the the wording to just what is relevant. Further, you can remove the pictures so your post isn't redundant.
