Miami Boat Show 2014

Thanks for the great pictures. I had no idea these boat shows were such a production. We had just had ours in San Diego, and there were about 50 boats and a small tent with some hot dogs and popcorn. Ok, i am joking, but much smaller than this show.

Is that you on the SR, 450? Do you recall what they were listing that boat for? What were your general impressions of the boat?
I have been on a 450 before but looked at it again. I like the 470 way more. The 450 is the same LOA as my boat and has one head.

I've never seen a TV in a bathroom on a boat before :)

great pictures, I would have loved to have been able to go, maybe next time :)

Does anybody know who makes this boat, it looks absolutely amazing

Riva I believe

Thanks it is Riva, the Riva Aquariva Super, and a snip at $775k!!!!, I had better take that one off the Christmas list because I am highly unlikely going to be THAT good this year :)

Here's a few shots of the Westport 130. This boat was pretty nice, But it's no 650Fly:

I think this was one of my favorite boats, Marlow 58. Although the Nordhavns, and Flemings looked pretty good too.

Here's a few shots of the Westport 130. This boat was pretty nice, But it's no 650Fly:

I was on her....

I thought it was nice they made it available to view. The one sitting across from her with the helicopter brings a whole new meaning to "tender"......

Surprised you didn't shoot the engine room. I made a comment that it was similar to mine.....

I didn't really want to go on the big yachts. No reason even if one was named Never Say Never. I would rather visit those that are a potential future boat for us. I missed the Nordhavens, I would have liked to visit those no matter what.

To expand further - the failure of Sea Ray. The Sea Ray brand owns "Me". Feed me, take care of me - you have me for life.

Here I am at a few years over 50, have the financial ability to do what I want.

SeaRay not connecting with me - the buyer. Sea Ray is building boats that are not connecting.

I had to respond - I know the boat show is over - drifting off to memory.

Before I bought my first SeaRay - I went on this site and read long and hard. I followed specific forums, was first thinking a 320, then decided a 340 - read both of the specific threads (yeah - all 90 pages).

We bought the 340 as a practice boat. Put it on a lake near where we live. We know we are retiring soon on Salt Water, the 340 was bought to learn systems and gain knowledge ( only been boating a few years). When we bought it, I immediately started shopping for the next boat which would be something we could live on a week or more at a time.

My concern is, someone out there is considering a SeaRay and they are reading this thread. They might interpret my posting as a negative against the brand. I want to make sure to put my comments in the appropriate context.

First. I think any negative comments about Sea Ray caring about me as an owner were inappropriate. When I had questions about some specific models - Rusty called me. We talked about my questions. When my boat show experience was not what I wanted -- I got a PM from the head of marketing - the next day.

SeaRay cares. This site is too important to owners, and prospective owners, for my mistake in posting (granted, after 7 hours on Collins Ave and another couple of hours in the Four Seasons bar) - no excuse - I will own up.

So - I would like to apologize to Sea Ray (and staff) for any negative comments in this thread that may be perceived by readers.

A couple of points:

When we got to Collins ave, went to the Sea Ray spot first. First, the line was long at the registration, the admiral was antsy, so we jumped out of line and did not register, just started walking around.

Second, we are not working directly with a dealer - explained the issue in PM to Sea Ray Mktng. So I did not have a dealer introduction for the show.

Given the two options above, when told by the girls at the L lobby, that it would be a few minutes - I blew it off and left. Then later that night decided to post that I was not able to see that boat.

During my journey into boating over the past 5 years, we have spent a lot of time on 2-3 bare boat charters a year. Sea Ray, Carver, Meridian, Tiarra, etc. I appreciate the overall quality of a Sea Ray boat.

I owe it to this forum - where I have learned so much - to admit my mistake in posting - and ensure that I set the record clear.

Now, regarding the 510. I had really high hopes. However as we are building our requirements, and determining what we want in our next boat - the 510 was not "our" next boat. That's just us... nothing about the overall perspective of the 510.

Will Sea Ray be our next boat in the next few months? I would like it to be, I would go into it with a comfort and base knowledge of quality. Not sure if it will be. The brand may not have what we want at our age, direction. But if we do not match with Sea Ray, its because specific requirements ( inside stairs to fly bridge, side doors, cruising range for coastal navigation, etc ) did not match. Not because of quality of product or people.

that's my thoughts.... throw rocks, small anchors, or empty beer cans. But I wanted to clarify - for the quality of this Forum and Sea Ray.

thanks for reading.

Did you just "sell out" Football Fan? Stick to your guns. If you didn't like it you didn't like it, period.
