Hey everybody,

I was thinking of upgrading my '99 260DA to the new style of "Sundancer" lettering. I went to the boat show yesterday here in CNY and saw the 280DA and just really like the new style compared to what's on my 'dancer now. I found on e-bay the logo that's easy enough to put on but for the life of me, I cannot find the 260 numbers in the same font or design. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

the previous owner of my boat could not find the 290 logo so he ordered the 320 sundancer logo. who cares? it's a 31'9" boat anyway.
you could just remove the 260 all together.

BTW love that model 260. almost bought one. they are great with a big block and BIII

I would just take a good picture of it on a new boat and see if a local graphics shop can reproduce for you. You could also just order the numbers from your Sea Ray dealer. I replaced mine a few years back and they were maybe 5 dollars a set?

I recently used a company called Magic Brush in Florida to do some replacement decals and labels for my Boston Whaler. She did a great job and price was very reasonable. http://magicbrushsign.com/

This is what I did with mine, Tim. The Sundancer is the bubble/gel letters (from Sea Ray) from about a 35' Sea Ray (to get the length that I wanted). For the 260, I just played around with fonts/sizing until I found one I liked and then had a local shop make them. IIRC, the Sundancer was less expensive than the 260, and the 260 wasn't expensive by any means. I also changed all the striping to a brushed nickle color instead of the gold.

Nice Job

well that looks awesome!!!

Thanks, guys. Yeah, that "Sun" was getting a little long in the tooth - needed something a little newer looking. That and the new pinstriping/bootstriping made a world of difference.

The font is "Snell Roundhand" and it's "bold", as well. Font size 168.

Dennis...mind if I ask where you bought the Sundancer lettering? I know you mention from Sea Ray but can't seem to track it down. That looks awesome by the way.

Thanks, Dog! Well... I bought it from myself! :smt001 I just looked at the various sizes (lengths) that were used on some of the 30+ footers and then ordered it. I didn't like the sizes that were used on the smaller cruisers. You can look at the parts manuals for various boats through Sea Ray's website or stop by your local dealer and they can help with showing you both the various sizes and ordering it for you.

Dennis is the Sundancer decal one piece or did you have to apply each letter separately?

Peter

Thanks, guys. No, I don't have a better picture - the next best one is a full-on profile, but it's from a bit of a distance and doesn't really show the name too well.

The Sundancer is made up of individual letters, but they come as a set, already spaced out on the application paper.
