The 2014 NFL Playoff Thread.

49er's, no one else matters
Agreed but I think New Orleans can take care of Philly due to experience, KC because of their defense and running back and the Chargers fantasy is over.

Super Bowl Odds For Every Playoff Team
Team Odds
Seattle Seahawks 11-4
Denver Broncos 3-1
San Francisco 49ers 13-2
Carolina Panthers 10-1
New England Patriots 10-1
Cincinnati Bengals 16-1
Green Bay Packers 16-1
Philadelphia Eagles 16-1
New Orleans Saints 20-1
Kansas City Chiefs 25-1
Indianapolis Colts 33-1

I can't understand these odds, the Packers haven't beat a team with a winning record all season while the Colts have beaten the top 3 and 4 of the total while only losing to one team on this list.

The Colts do seem to play well against the better teams. Took out Seattle, SF, Denver.

49ers, Bengals, Chiefs, Eagles

Would love to see the Pack win, but they are just too beat up. Maybe the near-zero temperatures can help them out.

Everybody is overlooking the Bengals, I like that. The have the #3 defense, 2nd best behind the Seahawks (#1). If "good Andy" comes to play, we are unbeatable.

A quick note to all of those who feign disgust because a playoff team didn't sell out. The tickets avaliable aren't to the lower the bowl of the stadium where there game experience is unmatched. The unsold tickets are in the nosebleeds where you can barely make out the number on the jerseys. Option A: Freeze your ass off while being pelted with wind, rain and snow and barely see the action, spend hundreds of dollars on tickets, parking, tailgating food, and $9 beers, not to mention multiple hours commuting to the game, or Option B spend a couple hundred bucks on food, invite a dozen of your closest friends over, and watch the game in HD in the warmth of your own home with an a clean bathroom?

As a Lions fan, I am once again forced to only look forward to the draft. The playoffs are a fantasy for me.

That said, Go Pack Go. Never underestimate Aaron Rogers.

Rodgers coming back can really help. The lost season was while he was out. It took a lot of brass to go for the pass on 4th down at the 50+ yd line.
It still take a team to win and if defense doesn't step up SF may have an easy time of it. I look for high scores in this game and probably a close one too.

You can all make your predictions for this weekend but the NFC has to go through Seattle. Seattle will prevail. The only real team with a chance is the Farty-niners and Klunker-dink can't handle the noise in Century Link Field. He has been clearly rattled the 2 time he played there. Yes, SF beat Seattle in SF but look at the score vs the game in Seattle where the 'hawks *****-slapped them. There were very few SF wins that were playoff teams. Seattle had the tougher schedule and no one will come into Seattle and win.

It's going to be Seattle and Denver in the Bowl. Should be a great game. Go Seahawks!

30+ year Chiefs fan here and am used to losing. Would be nice not to.

Chiefs, Packers, Cinncy and Eagles

My last run at season tickets with the Bucs was 14 years (which I let go a few years ago when I had my little girl). I didn't miss a pre-season, regualr season or play off game in that time. I can't belive that 3 games are in jepordy of being blacked out. Spend the money and go support your team even if it is cold out.

My post from the sell out thread:

This is a really good article explaining some of he issues selling out the playoff games:

Colts are sold out, but it seems like issues run way deeper than just not buying tickets, but this caught my eye:

"One issue I heard from fans is that by Dec. 12, the Colts required season-ticket holders to purchase seats for all possible home playoff games, which in this case includes the K.C. game and an unlikely AFC Championship Game. That's a lot of money to spend before Christmas."

How many of you want to spend the bucks for a game that may not ever exist? Not me.

Go Hawks we'll play anyone home or away. Doesn't matter to us who wins the Hawks will be ready for them with the 12th man.

Keep an eye on your boat, I just pulled your plug!

That must be an NFL thing. We had the same set up in Tampa. It sucked becasue you would have to spend the money hoping we made the playoff or risk that you sat through the whole year and then couldn't get PO tickets. It was about a week or two before X-Mas and I agree, it really sucked. But then agin, I paid for them every year we had a chance to make the playoffs. It seemed like the following year are ticket prices kept rising so my money went to make up the difference.

What exactly is up with all the overblown bravado Seahawks fans exhibit, not only in this thread, in other threads, in other forums, and article comments? At CSR I rarely see similar comments by fans of other teams with all the "whistling down the alley" that Seahawks fans do. A little confidence in your team is great, but I have noticed an overabundance exhibited by Seahawks fans. Are the Seahawks such a weak team that they cannot win a game if the opponent doesn't play in a 130+ decibel environment that their fans take so seriously?
