Hey guys, I owned 2 Sea Rays and both came with the electric stove which we NEVER used and it rattled like crazy. So I came up with this idea and had a great company make us a custom cutting board to fill in the hole of the stove when I removed it! It has a lip on it and sinks into the hole snug and doesnt move or rattle and I think it looks great! Just wanted to share with any Sea Ray Owners that DO NOT USE that stove!

The company that made the board is Accorn Wood Products Contact : Gary

Looks great. I use our stove but if I didn't would possibly do that. Thanks for the web site link they do some nice "stuff".

Keep in mind removing the stove may jeopardize your ability treat the boat as a vacation/second home and the interest payment deduction on your income taxes.

Thanks Henry.. I hear you BUT I dont have a loan..

i believe if you have a grill and/or a microwave oven in lieu of an electric stove the same laws apply regarding using the boat as a second home....

The microwave would qualify, I'm not sure about the grill given the transportability aspects. A built in grill like on the 300 series might be the exception.

Where'd you get the groovy SeaRay door mat?

Wow nice. We use our electric stove all the time, along with our BBQ.

I figured if some people were like US and never used the stove this was my idea I came up with and when in place makes NO NOISE like the old stove.. Thanks for everyones comments!!

Cool. Thanks!

I really like those mats!! Do you think the cutting board company could make one to cover our sink? They didn't start doing that until after my production year.

We don't use our stove either and ours is raised (and nosiy) likes yours. It sucks becasue you lose that extra counter space. I thought about removing the stove (but keeping it to re-install if we seel her) and installing a piece of granite or something but make it flush so we could gain the counter space.

To take it out is 4 phillips head screws.. Then 3 wires that are secured with 3 phillps screws.. And its OUT! The board that we had made is only about 1/2 or less high ( see photo) it gave us ALOT more counter space and its USEFUL if you want to cut up fruit etc etc.. And it POPS right out and you can put the stove back in in around 8 min if you need to sell her! The board looks like it sits on top of the counter but it has a lip on it and sits into the cavity and will not move around or make any noise! To take it out just pull it out and you are back where you started and drop the stove back in! WE are LOVING it and no more NOISY racket in the cabin when under way! We actually heard it at the HELM! Now it is SO QUIET and USEFUL space!

I always hear it rattle from the vibration of the fridge. Drives me crazy at night. I think I will be doing this in the next couple of weeks after seeing yours. I think on mine I have to remove the fridge to get to it but not a big deal. What was the cost of your cutting board?

65.00 Plus shipping.. Contact Gary.. He is a great guy and VERY HELPFUL! Quality of his work is PERFECT! My wife sat in the cabin and looked at the galley for an hour and we were so happy to get that rattle box out! The end product is amazing!

If you order one Perry, the measurements might be different than ours, his is a totally different 280 than ours, not to mention ours is butane not alcohol.

I agree.. ALL stoves may be different.. All you have to do is POP yours out and give gary the HOLE measurements and the Radius of the corners.. He will do the rest! Mine was easy I sent him him the Drawing from Kenyons website.. He took it from there..
