Ok all you southwest florida boaters I've been thrown under the bus (by Bucit/Perry) to start planning a Caladesi Island trip. When would be a good time for everyone?? I can do the trip anytime after memorial day wkend, so everyone interested please let me know good dates to make the trip and we'll put something together. Thanks, Lance:smt038

I just spoke with Bucit/Perry and we're looking at a June/July weekend time frame. I can't do August unless it's in the first couple weeks, wife is going to Germany.

Will check with our crew later today and report back:)

Count us in. The only weekend that we can't attend is July 5,6, and 7. We love the place. It's like camping out! Bruce and Ines Griffith

We can do week-ends in July after the week-end of the 6th. Would like to know as soon as possible which one though to organize with work.

Let's give it a few days or so for everyone interested to chime in, then we'll throw some dates out and decide.

My schedule is too messed up for me to have input. When the date is picked, I will be there if at all possible!!

We can give it longer than that:) It's just that getting military leave, you can't generally wait until a week before you want time off, so will need three or four weeks or so if possible.

BTW, if I remember correctly Caladesi doesn't take reservations so it's first come first served but since we would arrive on Friday getting slips shouldn't be a problem. It was $1.00 a foot so very reasonable. Small gift shop/restaurant on site and does sell ice. No real showers to speak of except for the outside type.

Caladesi itself doesn't, but there is an outside contractor that does. I made a reservation last night. It's a flat $24 per night not per foot. I don't remember the name but there is a link on the Caladesi state park website. Only problem is a $17 cancellation fee. I figured it was worth it to guarantee the spot. I may make a trip there sooner just to check it out.

Okay then, it's July 12th-14th with the CSR party on the 13th.:smt038 What suggestions do you all have for food on the Sat? Do you all bring something to share and "muddle in", do we have an organized rosta of what to bring to share (so we don't end up with too much of one thing), or do you just bring food to eat on your own? Do we BBQ? Our yacht club often just designates some to bring starters and others desserts and then we all BBQ our main course. What's custom and practice with CSR get togethers? Assume we all BYO booze of choice . I've already had orders to make English sausage rolls, as I only make 'em high days and holiidays:)

I will pencil these dates on my calendar.......hope to see everyone there. It's been quite a while since we visited Caladesi but love it. I too am one of the wider beam boats that can only utilize limited slips.

List me as possible. Will just be getting back from 3 weeks in Bahamas so depends how wife feels about a few more days on the boat. Looks like fun.
