The new year is here so lets get together and plan a trip! There is already a good amount of interest in going to Bimini so let's get started. Everyone is invited and for those who haven't been to the Bahamas yet, this is a perfect "first time" trip. THE MORE BOATS THAT PARTICIPATE, THE BETTER TIME WE WILL ALL HAVE. I'm not going to set a date yet, let's get input from everyone who is interested. Memorial Day is usually the first opportunity of the season but anytime is great for Bimini.

This thread can be a great source of information from those who haven't done the trip before so everyone contribute. I recommend Bimini Big Game Club as the place to stay and if there is enough of us, I might be able to get a discount for slips.

So, lets start with a roll call of those interested and go from there.

OK. here is a video of the Odyssey going from Bimini to Great Issac which is about 24 miles north of Bimini Harbor. A great place for fishing, snorkeling and lobstering.

Here's the North side of Bimini, a beautiful peaceful anchorage. We have spent the night here before....

here we are snorkeling in about 7 feet of water at Turtle Rocks, about 5 miles south of Bimini Harbor.......

Hey Randy, A thing to consider is where we would meet up/start from.......... Remember our last trip trying to set anchors because the weather wasn't playin with us?? LOL
 
MAYBE we'll be in Florida by then! If not, hopefully we will be for the next one. From the Jupiter area how far is the trip to Bimini? Normally how much time to you budget for the round trip?

Well, get your butt down here! (or should I say your boat)

From Jupiter Inlet to Bimini is about 96 miles. getting there is almost directly against the Gulf Stream. Getting back will be faster
 
Our boat will be in Ft. Pierce so we are in, as long as timing is good for us depending on date. May have 1 or other that may go as well. So looking forward to several trips to the Bahamas this year. Keep me in the loop.

I would consider the crossing, but I am in Miami.
