My Sylvania SH 11050 microwave runs when power turned until you open the the door. I cannot find a microwave that will fit in the cabinet. They are all too large and Sylvania has discontinued that model. Any suggestions on a replacement? It's for a 2006 290DA

I had to replace mine this year as well and had difficulty finding one the right size. My dealer checked and there were still a few available from the factory. While I did not like the price ($200) I had him order one for me. You might want to check with your dealer unless you decide to purchase the Frigidare that KP49 mentions in his post.

KP49 I saw your thread The height on opening is just under 10" so the Frigidaire will not work.I have searched everywhere. My next step will be call MM and see if any are left.

Make sure when you measure the opening you are not including the board the Sylvania is mounted to, its around an inch thick and does not get re-used..

If you get desperate I fixed the old Sylvania that was in mine, one of the wires on the cooling fan windings broke off and I was able to solder it back together (it would trip the thermal breaker after a minute), my wife seen it in the garbage pile and said she wanted a microwave for work so I fixed it. Not much to them inside, maybe just a wire came loose or corroded inside of yours and you may be able to get it going. Its just a crappy 50.00 microwave and not really meant for boat or RV use, doesnt hurt to have a look inside before pitching it.

I measured it with microwave and base out ( 9 7/8 ). I cannot find one close to that size. MM has one in stock for 239.00 ouch! I will be tearing apart microwave tonight

The opening on mine was over 10.75" with the microwave out, the height measurements are including the feet so it easily fit in mine.

Good luck with repairing it, 240.00 is highway robbery IMO.

I might have a microwave that will work for your application. Can you send me some dimensions and I will check with the one I have in my garage that came out of the Tiara. We don't use the microwave at all and removed it.

Wouldnt be so bad except for the height, the Sylvania they used in this era boats are an inch shorter than any other other compact microwave I could find. Luckily the opening on mine was a little larger and I was able to get a slightly taller unit in there.

The real problem is that there are some cruisers out there that have a refrigerator that doesn't fit through the entry door. Which means you might have to sawzall the stupid thing in half to get it out, and then I don't know what you do for getting a replacement back in. The entry door on the newer (later 90's to present) is not an easy thing to remove.

I've had quite a few large RVs over the years and they are no better - except they usually dont sink if something goes wrong ;)

Has anyone found a solution for finding a microwave that fits in a 2006 Sea Ray Sundancer 300? I have been looking with no luck. I see there was a discussion about this very thing in 2012 but didn't see any solution.

Check Target. They have had one that would fit recently.
