Hi all,
new to the forum and looking at a 300 DA.
question: has anyone removed the carpeting and replaced with water resistant wood or laminate? If so how difficult is that to do yourself and what types of flooring did you go with?
how about Flex Teek in cockpit and swim platform?

from the post I've seen here every 300 owner seems happy with their boats. Anything I should look for specifically?
we are moving up from a Regal 2565 and like the additional space below including the wider beam.
thanks in advance

What year(s)/era are you looking at. The '02-'07 era are all generally the same and are the only era I really know about. '02 doesn't have Smartcraft gauges. Some '03 does. Everything '04 and after does. Smartcraft makes the boating kinda fun, especally if the GPS is connected to the Smartcraft speedometer (check for that). '04 and earlier has Cool Fuel II fuel pump modules. '05 and up has Cool Fuel III fuel pump modules. There was a design issue with painting the inside of the Cool Fuel III modules so if you have that on the boat you look at, make sure that has been taken care of/replaced. Also, the 350Mag/5.7L twins are a nice performance improvement (40hp per engine) over the 5.0L twins. Engine hatch and engine space is fantastic. So if you work on the mechanicals yourself, its a dream. '05 and up also went to nice form fitting vinyl on the salon sofa backrest. My '04 has the less attractive gathered vinyl. Finally, this era of the 300DA came in either the dinette configuration in the cabin (two benches with a table between) or the salon configuration with a pullout sofa. Frankly I have never seen one with the dinette configuration. Seems the sofa configuration was very popular.

We have honed in on an '06 with 240 hours that just had the manifolds and risers done.
good to know it has the Smartcraft, however, I'm not familiar with the Cool Fuel piece. What does that do exactly?
it also looks like the previous owner installed a flush kit.

Sounds great! Regarding the Cool Fuel 3 module, read the following thread. Its the module that has the inline fuel filter/fuel pump with a cooling jacket going around it to keep the fuel cool (I suppose to keep it a liquid to avoid a vapor lock).

Hi, I just happened across your post asking about removing carpet and installing new flooring. Can you share what you learned and did?

I have a 280 Sundancer and planning to replace the carpet with "fake" teek.

Thanks, Mark

300DA is a great boat... Here's a great thread to start reviewing with answers to most any question you may have. It's also the "official" thread for the model you are looking at.

This specific link has some pics of hardwood in the cabin, and the bed filler/extension Bill (zz13) had on his previous boat. I've duplicated that as a taller guy, so I can sleep bow to stern vs sideways across the beam of the boat. Nice addition. There's also a string of photos of a full hardwood retrofit by bev that I posted for her. Cant find the link right now, but will post again once I find it from home. The pics are still in my photobucket.
