Thanks everyone for posting your pictures. Some of the new boats look pretty nice.

I realize folks are probably traveling today and tomorrow, but if anyone has any more pictures of the new Venture, please post when you get back and have time. The pictures posted so far are great.

I'm surprised Rusty doesn't have a bottle of coconut water in his hands.

Rusty, sorry I couldn't make it, looks like it was an awesome party. I'll be there next year.

This has been awesome to read from afar. I wish I could have made it.

One thing that I haven't seen mentioned (I apologize if I missed it), is how Jim's beautiful boat did in the classic boat contest? Will we see the upcoming article in Sea Ray Living, and did Jim get part of his trip covered with the $250 first prize?

Mike
I think they changed the parameters of the judging
the 600 took "most unique" award and a 200 buck in Sea Ray gear certificate since it was NOT a 100% correct resto
Bob Walsh's 1963 808 took the top prize at 300 certificate
Bob's boat was what we in the car show area call a beautiful old survivor...unrestored and totally original
Congrats Bob if you read this.
but keep in mind...you bought yours...I BUILT mine

I couldnt believe how that 51ft boat handled at above 40mph
and the feeling of 1200hp of turbo deisel spooling up was unforgetable...thank again Rusty !!
that is something I may never do again but will never forget the experience...like having a big smile all over inside and out

what an event...Thank you Sea Ray and all involved!!!

Great pics....thanks!

Jim,

I haven't seen Bob's boat that I remember, but I think all of us appreciate all of the work you put in yours. Congrats to both of you, and to Sea Ray for doing this for the owners.

Mike

Jim,

Congrats on your 600. I followed your restoration thread and she is gorgeous. Thanks for pictures as well. Just curious, judging by the speeds, fuel burns, and rpm,you may have accidentally flip flopped the vessel view pics between the 380 and 470.

Here you go, Al. Hunted them down for you!!

Shaun,

There was a Denise from Knoxville customer service who sourced a new glove box panel surround for my 230 years ago. My boat was already out of production. However, she and her team were able to track down the old molds and supplied the parts as promised. I do not recall her last name, and I am not certain if this is the same person. However, thanks again SR & Denise for superior customer service.

that is possible...honestly the most impressive boat for performance was the 280 sundeck ...had the 8.2 in it and when the throttle was stabbed at 30mph would set you back in the seat like a musclecar and went straight to 56mph
That boat had my attention

Great pics....thanks!
I didn't post the video where I decided to set the camcorder on my phone and toss it in the pool.
was odd how a few beers make you do silly things with technology.
the picture from the bottom was a bit blurry and the sound was...well.....like it was under water..
but it recorded the entire event.

I think it looks like Sea Ray dropped the ball... I mean... where's the fireworks in the evening? Sheez!

more spectacular things on the water than in the air
who needs fireworks when you have boats and beer ???
