Official 1980's Weekender/Sundancer 300 thread

There are two cats eyes in each side of the arch (right behind my daughters head) two in the top of the arch and then two down low. Removing the old name and signature this weekend so that the new name and logo can be placed on her stern and sides near the arch.

I didn't kill any bugs that night, PETA would be proud

I only have the two in the top of the arch, not in the sides. Congrats on the renaming. Make a fun ceremony out of it! Be sure and post a pic when you get the new name on.

Shaun, how the hell do I install this canvas on my hardtop?

Unfortunately yours is the only weekender I'm personally familiar with that has a hard top, so I can't help you with it. :( Mine is all canvas.

Is this thing really that rare in the 300 Weekender style boat? I see it on 77/78 boats but notary others till much later years

I believe it is quite rare. I've actually never seen one locally and of all the google image searching I've done on weekenders to get project ideas I've seen VERY few of them. You got a Jewell!!!

Might need you canvas guy, side curtains are shot. If he can use my messed up ones as a template for new ones

I went online after we talked last night. The only thing I could find was for a 18'. The hardtop has channels all along the sides and top. The canavs has edges that slide into the channels and snaps. I'm missing two sections but the rest of the canvas is in very good shape. Cockpit cover is brand new. As soon as I get all this figured out I will post those pics

It really shouldn't cost you much to just get a couple panels made if the rest of them are good. I'm really excited, my canvas will be done tomorrow! Plan on getting some pics this weekend IF I can get over there! :(

Looks nice, removing the old name and side lettering today. I'm having one hell of a time with shadows from the old Sea Ray logo on the arch. Stern came off with no problem. I will post new pics when they finish later this week. Switching to LED Nav lights later...rather be on the water

Hi,

I've been looking at the pictues of you boat improvements. I have a 1986 300 Weekender that I just purchased last April.

Could you tell me where you got the wood for your cabin deck and how you installed it?

Also, what kind of paint did you use in the cabin and how did you prep for it? I never thought of painting the panels but your photo's look great.

Thanks
Thomas

Thanks a bunch for the compliments! Floor is hardwood Teak and Holly. It was glued to the floor and is from Tiara Yachts. My brother in law is the flooring supervisor for them and did the floor using scraps and run overs from them. We used regular household paint and rollers. As far as prep all we did was thoroughly clean the walls. Went on and covered great in is holding up great! It is amazing how much it not only modernized, but also brightened up the cabin. Post some pics of your boat when you get a chance. I'd love to see some new ideas!!
