CSR has 25,000+ members now. That's good, AND bad. I remember when this club had few members, and it was a very entertaining, fun, and a generally a great place to learn about Sea Ray boats. I figure CSR has grown into how this country is. Too dang Politically Correct! The members whom used to contribute good quality commentary, are far too quiet, due to having the fear of stepping on someones toes. It always seems the person who lurks the most, only comes out to call out someone on their view point. It's disappointing that the few, can have so much power over the many, that want to have a good time. We need folks that can understand scarcasm, and the difference between a joke, opinion, and fact.

It's a shame that everytime I log into CSR, to read something and be entertained, I'm more and more disappointed. There are so many folks that either like or dislike say....Gary (Four Sons), I personally like his scarcasm and style of humor. He has lit into me more than a few times, but heck it's still funny. If you go back and read older posts of his, they were not attack threads. They were entertaining, you can learn something from posts. Like the bubba burger thread. It's only been since the new generation of members that ride his butt about "stuff" that he has regressed into defending himself. I know that seems backward to most here, but I bet anyone who knows the old Gary, understands what I mean. Let him free, and if you don't like what he has to contribute, DON'T READ IT!

Frank W. is a great guy. All he wants to do is help people with issues, we have with our boats. He saves people ALOT of money whenever he picks up his keyboard and types. He is a great asset to this club. BUT Frank is very different than Gary. Frank is much more to the point, direct, dry. But I have seen the post where his sence of humor will poke out. My point is, when you read Gary's stuff, it's tounge in cheek. When you read Franks stuff, you need to write it down, and then also read the message from either one, with that in mind!

All the folks in between, are varying degrees of personalities. Some you may agree with some maybe not so much. This is important.........YOU DON"T HAVE TO AGREE WITH EVERYWORD SOMEONE POSTS TO LEARN SOMETHING FROM IT!
I say, lets stop being so critical of/with each others comments, and take them for what they are worth and stop trying to turn this place into your own sand box. Maybe then we can get back to some of the more entertaining threads we USED to have here. Even the head cheese here is tired of breaking up cry babies, and people fighting over what he said or she said.....it's tiresome for the mods also. Good job by the way Chuck, It's a thankless job you do, and the pay sucks, I hear! haha (now see that's called a joke). I miss the days of friendly banter back and forth. The kidding with each other, and specially the technical knowlege that we have lost because, people that know things, don't want to have to defend their written word because they can't spell, or what ever reason! (my writing style sucks).

It's gotten so very quiet around here, I know, people are on their boats enjoying themselves.......give me a break. If it weren't so PC around here, threads would be showing up like fire. People couldn't wait to get back and post what they did over the weekend, or share what happened to them and what to watch out for. It's a shame. Of course this is MY OPINION, hence I put this in the blog section. If you agree with me great, lets enjoy CSR. If you don't agree with me......I really don't care. Don't read what I have to say anymore. Better yet, click in that ignore box that has my name in it, I guess if you did that you wouldn't have read this and would not have been offended! haha

Enjoy your day, I will mine!

Being a relative newb to CSR I do find Gary to be humorus... along with most of the people on here. I agree not to take things to heart as it is an online forum.

Frank. Csr is very lucky to have him. He has personally helped me out and if ever the opertunity presents its self I hope to return the favor.

I think of the CSR crew as all my friends. I have no reason to attack anyone. I may stand up and defent my opinion but as Islandhopper stated its your own personal opinion. I enjoy reading through the banter daily. Always entertaining and helps get me to my next boating fix.

As far as spelling... I am not an english major... and we are not being graded so who cares. If I can understand what you mean then good enough...

A sincere thanks to everyone through out my time here who has made this one of my favorite sites!

CSR: Is like one big family. You learn to deal with crazy uncle Harry (Gary). Makes the site not only informative (Frank) but fun to read and post. Great friends and common interests.

Wow! I wonder how many of those are actually somewhat active? I'd sure like to see some statistics over the years. Like the membership stats pre-SRO, and then again right after SRO was abruptly shut down, and then the increase over time. Who are the longest running active members?! (looks like John R. and I date back to Oct. '06)

That's a lot of members in only a few short years.

My spelling on here is not so good... but I hope that everyone comes here to share ideas and try to help one another out.. I love this forum and have gained alot of knowledge that you cannot find any place other than CSR.. WE all have pressures at work let's not add anymore to a place that is ment to bring enjoyment.. Now will someone please come to WV and help me get my boat ready to go back in the water I am two weeks behind here folks !!!!

Sorry Gar.....I mean Todd, it's my box, and I'll take it home if you keep messing with me! Besides, I'm way to heavy to be standing on a box. You must feel better if your out here picking on me.

:). This place has had it's ups and downs and there are definitely more people than ever before. It's a great resource and if those inclined listen to the wise advice of guys like Frank and Gary and many others, they'd realize they have our best interests at heart. They are dead set on making sure information is accurate AND safe. Those that dismiss or ignore their detailed contributions and/or advice are the ones that quickly find themselves on the "Hey I'm not going to post on that guy's thread, because he does it his way anyway list".

Heck Todd,I'm still wishing I had read the thread on the carriage bolt method of hull repair...
That's the shame of it, it wasn't just about the carriage bolts. There were acceptable repair techniques in that thread also. I missed the finale but do question the complete thread removal, now it's all gone, bad and good. It's happened before...

I don't think anyone has gone anywhere. And, if the post count is down on some folks logins, trust me, it's not because they are afraid of offending anyone. Some folks have to work for a living. Once the work gets caught up, the shenanigans shall commence in earnest in order to make up for lost time.

And, no one is gonna go to WV to work on a boat. You would be better of dragging it over here to the manly part of the Chesapeake Bay and then asking for help...

I have been around since the beginning. Own my own business and the last few years have been a distraction, not easy since 2009. Owned the boat for 5 years and have less questions and many things have been discussed. Was on SRO before as well. Some great people on this board and I have nothing but great things to say about it and it's members.

I've seen posts like this a thousand times on various forums whether it's boats, cars, fishing, apps, etc. This post represents a natural evolution in every forum. Go to any forum and you will find 5 posts like this over the past 5 years. Everyone has an arbitrary point in their mind when the forum was at it's best and they want to keep it like that forever. That's not possible because it's a matter of opinion. People who joined 6 months ago will think this is the best time in the history of CSR, those who joined many years ago are nostalgic for the good old days. People change, interests change, people sell their boats, people buy different kinds of boats, people just get bored of forums. Life changes, people change and forums change. I was really active in a car forum for about 3 years and one day I didn't log in....that was 5 years ago and I haven't been back since. No reason....just lost interest.

CSR is great no matter what's going on.....I like change and I like the new faces.

I haven't been on b o a t e r e d.com for years. Use to go all the time. I think this is a very quality forum. The moderators do a great job.

CSR is evolving with the membership, but I think it's still basically the same place, albeit a little less personal with the larger number of members.
