Chuckmoe I know depending on what you need Napa has been a great resource.. as far as the windlass can't help mine had it when I got it good luck... Jason

Hey guys,

I need the help of the BIG OLE 340's What was the toggle on the dash labeled "TREAT" originally used for? Have looked forever but never had any luck... Thanks guys,

Probably not JUST the macerator pump. Some of these boats had a reservoir that held a chemical that would pump into your holding tank to "treat" it for y-valve dumping overboard, when that was still legal. Not necessary if you are 3+ miles out at sea (might be 5 miles now) but you better make sure your y-valve is secured if you are boarded by the Coast Guard

My boat did not orig have the treat switch. I used it to turn on my red cockpit lights... just wondered what it was originaly for... thanks Ron

I have recently become a proud owner of 87 34' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge. Currently she is dry docked while we "refreshen" her. We started with redoing the countertops today. We are replacing the vinyl and carpet. She needs her engines gone through from one end to the other. Any pics, advice, assistance, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are working hard thru the winter, so that we can play hard this summer.

Summers coming!

For the 80's 340 Crew - what should a spares kit contain?

Belt set
cap & rotor
spare plug wires
plugs
impeler(s)
fuel filter / seperator

Any other thoughts on the subject?

Also, any thoughts on Taylor Made 8.5 x 27 inch Hull Gaurd fenders for a 340
Too large - Too Small
and how many Six?

Thanks
-Mike

Spare kit should contain the phone number of SEATOW or TOWBOAT/US and an unlimited towing package.

I dont even have the boat yet - BUT I DO HAVE THAT:smt038

Hi Mike good to see you post... I have never thought man I wish I had smaller fenders... I have a few of the round fenders as well maybe the 18" size? I think the kit you have is good. A good tool kit is vital as well. I also keep a cordless drill on board.
I have sockets, wrenches, screw drivers, adj wrench, pliers, oil filter wrench, spare nuts, bolts, screws, wires, crimping tool, wire connectors, allen wrench set, hand pump for fenders, multi meter, and lots of rags to clean up my path of destruction... that's all I can add off the top of my head it has been awhile and I'm going through withdrawls...

Greetings Jason,

I'll most likley be putting a bid in on the 89 340 Dancer at the end of the month! I'm still saving the red rope lights for ya:smt043
So, I'm in full engineer mode - over analyze everything:grin:

A set of points belongs on the spares list as well.

As far as the fenders go, I'm just kinda debating with myself 8.5x27 or 10.5x30.....
