Atlantic City Rendezvous 2011

I'm way late jumping on this thread to add my thanks to Ron, Rick, and the cast of thousands who made it happen. Greg and Colleen for guiding us down and getting us there in one piece. It was a great event and fun to meet a hundred or so like minded folks.

My only excuse for the delay is being buried but wanting to get the pictures uploaded from my camera. I didn't take a bunch, but some follow here. More pictures, and movies, can be downloaded full-resolution from https://www.ourchateau.net/photo/ph...d303720436c7562205365615261792041432054726970. Warning, the videos are unedited, don't expect Fellini.

We stayed at the 79th St. Boat Basin on the the night before running down. Great place for access to the city, just walk in. Not at all protected, I thought for sure the ropes would give way before it finally calmed down.:smt101

On the outside following Frank / Impulse III back to Dillon's Creek. Turned out the marina we picked for an overnight is their home port.

Dillon's Creek was idyllic. Beautiful, well-kept and clean, some of the nicest showers we've come across at a marina. Nothing to do but enjoy the pleasant, shaded surroundings (and the pool, which was going to open in a week). If peaceful is for you, it's perfect. But there's nothing in walking distance; we were FORCED to take the boat to dinner (I was so disappointed:smt043).

Dinner was at Baker's Water Street (everyone just calls it Water Street) at the end of Tom's River. Dockside dining at its finest, very nice. A dockhand helping and directing the boats so you don't end up with the 20 footer in the middle of the 40ft slip. And good margaritas, too.

The venue for 2012 has been cast in stone....the smoke fromthe chimney stacks is white........we are all just waiting for the grand-exhalted-pu-pa....you know...Ron... to make the statement.

I have a feeling this will be the best CSR Rendezvous yet.

We never had "pu pa" or "poo bah" in spelling class in Catholic grammar school. I only ever heard it on the Honeymooners or the Flintstones.

I agree....all of the transient slips at Dom's marina have already been booked....I'm even getting a premium becuase of the dates....and I'm charging LOA...none of this....."My boat is a 410 and I'm 41 feet long" crap.....I'm measuring this year. You bring a dinghy...I'm charging for that ....oh...and electric is extra too!

Aren't you the guy who has 380 decals for his 410?

"Poo-Bah" (and its variant "poobah") immediately became a popular mocking synonym for someone who holds a number of offices, wields ultimate power, or exhibits an inflated self-regard. "
