Well I just traded in my 05' 320 and stepped up to a 2007 44 da. I bought the boat in Ohio and it's true what they say about fresh water boats....WOW!! I stored the boat in Ohio in heated storage for the winter. In the spring I'll truck it to New Jersey. Now I need help. Any info on transporting a 44? Thanks to all, I have always found this site to be very helpfull when trying to get a straight answer. I've already started reading all the 44 DA threads. It's always a pleasure to talk to real boaters. Happy Holidays to all and I know we've all said this before but I have a new boat waiting, I can't wait till spring. thanks again

Call Joule Yacht Transport. Congrats! Very sexy boat.

Congrats on the new purchase... I hope we have a quick winter...

I had to have my boat hauled from Maryland to Waretown, NJ. I called around and found that there are a lot of so called good deals out there. I decided to use the Marina that I keep boat at because if there was any damage I wanted to know exactly where to send my lawyer and who to hound. The price was very competitive and the move went off flawlessly. Here is their link, Key Harbor Marina, Waretown, NJ http://www.keyharbormarina.com/ ask for Fred he's the owner.
PS: No matter who you choose make sure you have them shoot you a copy of their proof of insurance then call the company to be sure its up to date. This business has a lot of fly by night yahoos in it.

Drive it back on the Erie Canal. Great way to get to know that beauty. That's how I got mine back to VT from OH.

Congrats and Enjoy! You will love it. Now if winter would just get over soon.....

Congratulations on the new boat!

+1 on bringing it back on the water!

You might want to ask Mike Aiello at MM Brick, about shipping... Mike is the regional MM VP and he covers the NE and Ohio... Maybe he can get one of his transport companies cut you break... Plus you may need to have your HT/arch and electronics re-installed...

Thanks for all the replies. I try the haulers mentioned by the members that posted. Also I know Mike from MM and will give him a call. I was thinking about bringing it back to NJ on her own bottom. Great shackdown cruise and something I always wanted to do. I'll have to get out the charts and look it over. I figure about a week? Has any else made this trip? I have read about the Erie and the locks seems like a great trip. One good point you can't get lost. LOL

It's a good trip to make, it certainly is a nice easy way to get aquainted with the new boat. When I drove our 360 here from CT, expenses were about $2K less than trucking and pulling props, rudders and everything off the arch. We took 12 days to do it to make a vacation out of it, but it could be done in a lot less time. If you decide to do it, let me know, and I can share some tips and info. But I would suggest a trucking back up plan, Huricane Irene raised all kinds of problems with the canal, and although they expect to have a regular open in early to mid May, time will tell.
Congrats on the new boat and good luck with her.

Don't forget to post some pictures of your new beautiful boat!

Topgun, I'll do part of the trip with you. I'm on Oneida Lake & Erie Canal.

I can get you to the Hudson River safe & sound. :smt001

I figured I'd ask how many miles or gallons of fuel to the erie or if you know to NYC. I'm going to chart it this weekend but I figured I'd ask.
