310 Sundancer Thread (2007 & newer)

No worries, you're on topic!

I use a Magma grill with the standard deck mount rod. I got an 8" piece of Delrin that fits in the aft flag holder and drilled it so the grill rod fits in it snug. No drilling for any mounts. Just remove the flag poll and put the grill mount in. Works great!
Thanks - any suggestions on which mount I should use if I don't have the aft flag holder?

From what I've seen, Magmas are really the only choice for a grill - is that right?

Can you post a picture of this "delrin" piece and how it's attached to your grill? I've been thinking of doing the same by using my flag holder which we never use.

I don't have a picture at this time and it will be spring before I can get one, but here is a drawing. I use the Magma mount shown below (without the deck socket). For those that don't know, Delrin is a plastic/nylon like material that can be drilled and machined.

Greetings 310 Dancer's

Great to have a 310 community to bounce questions off of. Just splashed last week and looking forward to a nice season on the Barnegat Bay NJ. I have a MAGMA grill the fits great into port side rod holder. The Grill is at the stern walk thru and easy to grill out of the way of Guests. The mount fits great and you just level the grill out to be square with the gunwale.

I bet the 310 and 330 arch is the same. The 330 is the 310 with side decks and 2 extra LOA. I crawl around on mine to wax it.

Looking to add full camper canvas to my 2008 310DA. I have the full package now with the sloped rear section. I would like to replace the rear sloped canvas with a more squared off version. The sloped rear section makes it nearly impossible to sit on the rear bench with the canvas up. I know this would require additional hardware to be mounted which would be ok. Does anyone know where I might find this or someone who could make this for me.

Anyone know what the generator error code "62 Err" means? I am getting this code on the remote start module at the main power panel in the salon. I can start it at the main panel on the gen itself, just not at the remote.

I am having the same issues with the remote start. I've recieved Err 62 as well as Err 50's and Err 100's. Sometimes it will start normally, some time it will crank for a second or so, then thow an Err 50. To clear the error, I'll have to reset the genny with the manual switch. Generator works fine from the "reset-start-auto switch on the generator. I also was unable to shut down the generator once from the panel, had to shut it down manually.

I was told from a very unreliable source this weekend, that several of his dock mates have the same issue and that a software patch was required. I have not confirmed this as of yet, but maybe it gives us a good place to start our troubleshooting. It seems that none of the "Err ##" codes are documentated so it very well could be a compatability issue with the remote start panel and the generators control panel.

Unfortunatly, I am not on the boat, but I intend to find the cables etc that run from the remote start to the generator and check connectivity etc. I also want to find the appropriate fuse and "reboot" that panel.

For the 3" digital remote gauge, fault code 62 is "Seawater Pump Pressure". Could be caused by a bad impeller or an obstruction in the manifold.

If you have the 3" digital remote gauge you need publication TT-1429... it has all of the fault codes listed.

I don't have the remote but often get LOP (Low Oil Pressure) error at shutdown. I think this is a firmware bug because it shouldn't look at oil pressure during shutdown. My dealer has replaced the control unit trying to fix the problem.

You can reset the generator by turning the battery switch off and then back on... in my case it is the aft facing switch.

Hi All -
Been looking for this thread as well - thanks for kicking it off. We traded a 260 DA for the '09 310 and are thrilled. Just hit 20 hours on the Chesapeake, so we're still getting used to it. Has anyone added the Skyhook? Just got a quote from MMax to install and strongly considering. Otherwise, I'll share the grins and groans along the way!
Starcaster, My 2008 came with it! Don't waste your money, if you have Axius your good. I have had the boat for a year now and I used Skyhook for the second time on Friday. We were waiting for a Bridge to open in a small basin with 15kt breeze, it beeps loud and jerks you around!!

Glen, you're going to have to find a local Canvas guy to do it. Sea Ray didn't offer the Camper as an option on our model!

We did end up having Axius installed & use somewhat regularly. Software update done at install cleared up a lot of other issues as well. No regrets. Thx!

Just got done removing the folding seat in the back of the Boat! We dock A$$ in and the Rear Seat is useless. During Christmas I bought a Dink and a Small OB, I made a set of Davits but they won't work with the way we Tie Up! So I will be storing the Dinks OB in that space, it's a small 2.5- 4 stroke but it does the Job! I have the Dink mounted on the front of the Boat and tied down with Rachet Straps, I will post pictures tomorrow after test fitting the OB!

Here are the pictures I promised!

I have Skyhook on my '08. Only Axius on Old Hickory Lake, near Nashville. I really don't use it, but it came with the original deal. I wasn't offered any cash back. It would come in handy going through our lock, but I haven't done that yet. It does come with a beeping alarm, like the backup alarm on a truck. I think I have all the latest software, and everything seems to work ok now. A few teething problems, since this was one of the first Axius boats.

I had a bad impeller in my generator. Replaced it, and couldn't get it to run. Found a small fish in the through hull fitting. That's probably what ruined the first impeller. I pulled the strainer, and couldn't get any water to come in when I opened the valve. Probed with a screwdriver, and the fish popped out. Ok now.

Just got back from the Marina and the Mechanic and Mercury Specialist were pulling in with my Boat. I took advantage of the Mercury "White Glove Update" for the Axius system. They Updated all the Software for Axius and Replaced My GPS Antenna with a new one with shielded cable. The service writer also told me that either Sea Ray or Mercury Recommend and will be sending me Coupons to Upgrade my Batteries to Class 31 AGM's. Last year they replaced and upgraded my original Batteries to 31's from 27's on their dime! He says that the AGM's have a more Constant Power level than the regular batteries and that sometimes the fluctuation in power "Will Set Off the CO Alarm"!!!!

Marshall,

tell me the magic words you said that got them to kick in some battery upgrade coupons, I'd like to cash in on that. Especially since it is a pain to try to check the standard lead-acid batteries.

My CO alarm was driving me crazy last week. Of course, it's because the marina left the boat unplugged after doing some work on the slip and killed the house battery. Getting some help on a replacement might be timely.

I would love to hear more about this. I have had battery issues since day one. Took marina six months to finally put a new battery on port side, less than a year later, same problem. They are trying to blame it on me? Any background info would help....thanks
