95 270 sundancer

I went through the owner packet and its a manual marine toilet made by jabsco. Its just a toilet with a pump and a wet/dry selector. Why did you want this type?

If you are asking why I wanted Vacuflush, it was easier for the admiral and used less water from the tank on the hook. You can see a photo of a Jabsco manual in my post in the 270 thread to compare. Any photos to show us yet? The 270 is a fantastic boat, the best of its size in the SR line-up of trailerable vessels. MM

Very nice! The extended swim platform is so nice, the first upgrade I did. Wow, never seen a kicker outboard. Have you tried it yet? Where do you keep the gas tank? Is it connected to the main tank? MM

The 4-stroke o/b runs off the main gas tank. It's set up on remote steering and throttle control so you can run it anywhere from the boat. Have you installed a windlass?

When I started looking I wanted a newer 260, these were eliminated due to the short head room in the head for us. Then I focused on 94-99 270's. 94-96 were eliminated for lack of Vacuflush, (I never saw one with Vf for sale) few with A/C, and fewer with gennie's. Most 98-99 had fewer options than the 97 as SR made them a lower price boat, so 97 became the only boats I sought in the later stages of searching. I am interested in verification it is a Vacuflush, SR's site says they didn't offer it. Have you pulled up the brochure from the model archives on their site? MM
I did more research and found my toilet is not a vacuflush it's ( pump marine)

Hope to see you out on the Lake. There are quite a few lake powell boaters on here.

Hope to see you as well. We go to FLAMING GORGE spring and summer and LAKE POWELL in the fall.

Your windlass install looks very nice. How are you liking the lewmar v700? How difficult was the install?

The windlass has been great thus far. The install was not difficult just time consuming. I had pro grade assistance and still had issues to resolve. A big surprise was the cost of the wire, marine grade battery cable to run 50 feet cost about $200. Don’t go light or you will not get adequate power to run the windlass. Don’t forget the rode, buy an 8 plait anchor line so it will fall correctly in the locker. Expect about 2k to get a windlass installed. MM

2k to do it myself?

2k to do it myself?

$700 windlass
$75 foot switches
$120 controller
$250 wire
$250 chain and line rode
$50 swivel
$150 anchor
$50 cleat
$30 safety
$1675 total

There is nothing added for hardware and materials, figure $100. Now god help you if you don't have the anchor rollers, cost is $750 and the only place to get them is Sea Ray. MM

I guess i will be putting that project on hold for the moment. I would really love the windlass.

My 270 came with a microwave but it doesn't fit anywhere. Also how do you work the stove with alcohol?

Without shore power or genny. Can you run tv and fridge off inverter?

Your fridge should be a 12v-DC/120v-AC, so no need for inverter. You can run a TV connected to a inverter. Inverters are inefficient, therefore a 12v TV would be less drain on your batteries. I'm getting one soon to replace my inverter/TV. MM

How many batteries are you running? Where do you find a tv that runs off DC? Thanks for all your help.
