The PO of this boat (88 300 Weekender) put a Diesel Gen set in this boat. I Had the engine completely rebuilt. Runs like a new one.

However, the boat has twin gassers and having a seperate diesel tank eats up may space for a water heater. (And I would prefer to install a water heater for the new owner)

Anyone have one they want to trade or make me an offer so I can buy a gas model.

Also, diesel gensets are not ignition protected since usually there are no gasoline vapors on diesel boats. It's unsafe to install a diesel genset in a gas boat. You are making the right move by trading it.

Best regards,
Frank

How much do you want for your genny, have you had any exp with solar genny's. We have used one for a year now and would never look back.

I have a Westerbeke 4.5 kva 3 cal petrol genset in my boat and although I have had a separate tank made to supply it with petrol (as I have repowered the boat with twin Steyr turbo- diesels) I would still prefer the diesel option for logistical reasons, but here is the rub, I am in the UK and we would have to ship each way DOH !!!

However if you are keen then I could look into costs

Over to you

regards

TC
