What was your First Car?

1977 Chevy Nova, 4 door, straight 6, like below but baby blue. Lets keep in mind I was 1992, paid $300 for it and beat the ever living crap out of it:

1987 Pontiac Fiero GT red auto, which i still have, with only 55k on her!!!!!God my wife hates that car!!!!! Rob

68 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible - used.

340 4 barrel - it would move!

Worth more than my IRA now, wish I still had it.

First vehicle I learned to drive with was a '67 Ford F-100 3 on the tree, with a 351 under the hood in a dark green.

First car I bought, '72 Plymouth Duster like this model but in the ugliest gold-brown you've ever seen.

Used 74 Pontiac Astra (same as Chevy Vega). Drove it one week and found that it used more oil than gas! Took it to the repair shop and after they hosed me for new points/plugs/wires/breather/air filter/fuel filter etc... then they said my engine was shot and I need a new one! Nice.

Should have known then that I'd end up being a boat owner - I obviously like getting hosed! :smt101

Ok so I have come to realize there are alot of youngsters on CSR, which I think is great. Some of your first cars that were used, already have me out of HS and College, with a family of my own.

1975 Olds STARFIRE - Orange with a white interior. Bought it used from a friend of my mom's after it had been in a minor accident and she deemed it "too small". I had a CB radio in that car and the antenna was mounted right in the center of the top-painted the base of the antenna color matched to the roof - Even installed an external speaker in the front grill under the hood so I could use it as a PA/Speaker- It had a casette deck and I installed speakers everywhere "Rock-on"-How cool in those days...??

I had a 58 Chevy BelAir 4-door with a 3 on the tree and a 6 cyl. It was a two-tone with the color of the one below and white. Paid $350 for it, wrecked it the first summer I owned it and it cost me $350 to get it fixed. I had it two years and sold it for $300.

Not real pretty but quick enough. Got her when I graduated HS in the 70's.

1970 Ford XL http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/ford/70f/bilder/8.jpg

I have never seen any reference which proves they existed before this. The only one I've ever seen is the one I owned. They were very rare. I can't even find a photo on the internet - until now.

390 CI V-8 4 Barrel.

They are real. Back in a day when I used to assemble car models I had one. I painted it yellow and thought it was the best body style Ford ever made. they are even more rare than my '68 327SS Impala fast back

My first car was a hand me down from my mother-
1985 Mustang LX Red hatchback- mine was cherry red. 4 cycle 4 speed. I was driving to college after the Christmas break my Junior year. When I arrived after a 3 hour drive through a blizzard I had a snow drift in the hatch back because the lift gate was warped and no longer sealed across the entire opening so wind and snow could whip through the back of the car. I had to put my luggage in plastic bags.

My favorite was my 1998 Jeep Wrangler. I loved that vehicle and I am still ticked off that I sold it when I was told I need to grow up and buy a house. :smt021

It was a 1964 Thunderbird with the 390 ThunderJet Motor, I bought the car alamost 2 years before I got my license (1983). Had the paint and body work done, had all the chrome redone and found an original set of Kelsey Heyes wire wheels... It had the swing away steering wheel and when I went for our NJ State inspection they failed me saying that it was broken and that I needed a letter from Ford to prove it was OEM! It used hydraulic preasure to operate the wipers from the power steering system, and if it was raining and you were in traffic the wipers moved VERY slow, untill the engine RPM's came up...
