Just wanted to say hello. I just picked up my new old boat, a 1977 V240 Weekender last weekend. She'll need some TLC but she'll be a safe sea worthy boat when I'm ready to launch.

I'm looking forward to meeting some new friends at Club Sea
Ray.

Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I purchased a 1980 24 late last year. Looks the same, mine is a light blue. Funny I tow it with my dodge 1500 4x4. I'm hoping to splash the old girl this up-comming spring. This first year has been spent working the gremlins out of the running gear. It's a labor of love. After all we all know the real meaning of the word "B.O.A.T." BREAK,OUT,ANOTHER,THOUSAND..(LOL).

I'm looking forward to getting her back in shape. Its been a long time since I've messed around in power boats so I need to re-learn a lot.

Welcome! The Weekender is one of SR's finest looking as far as lines in my opinion. Good layout too. Is that a yellow hull? Can't tell if that's a faded yellow or cream...

Sounds like you are committed dollarwise to the restoration/renovation. At least not underestimating the task.

So did JC Weekender ever finish his resto? I don't remember any postings and couldn't find the end results in a search?

This past year it spent still in storage. A crazy year for him with a new house and growing family. I'm guessing he will be back at it over the winter / spring.

Thanks. The hull is yellow. A bit faded yes, but definitely not too far gone to bring back.

This is the third project boat I've picked up in the past 6 years. Two sail boats and now the Sea Ray.

I sold the first one and made some money. I kept my 1966 Bristol 29 sloop and now I'll probably keep this one too.

I'm a dedicated bottom feeder when it comes to buying boats. My old boats all have the common features that I love....Free & clear & no payments.

By the time I'm finished they look good. Not showroom-good but nice.
